Pirate and Princess wedding review! Lots of pics

Original post by AudioLoveStory

I'm back!!!

Seriously, I've never been to a more fun wedding than this one. Right from the start of the ceremony everyone was laughing and having a good time. I have to say, you've never really lived till you try to drive a Kia Rio in a ball gown. Ha!

The fun started the night before at the rehearsal dinner when the groom announced, 'Anyone who wants to join, we are going haunted house hopping! We're on the VIP list!' Bachelor party! 12 hours before the ceremony! Ha!

We went to the Netherworld Haunted house. Let me tell you, I don't get scared, ever. This was intense. I am absolutely ruined for any future haunted house. If you are ever in Atlanta around Halloween, you MUST go! I've never experienced anything like this.

This entire building, multi-levels, is covered in details:

There are even actors running around the parking lot:

But, enough of that. Onto the ceremony!

It was held at the Michael C Carlos museum. Gorgeous, gorgeous campus.

The entrance:

Ceremony area:

I loved all the little details they added, like the knights at the entrance, shields on the reserved seats, etc. It really made it their ceremony.

I thought the boutonniere's were great too:

Even the officiant was in character:

The bride looked gorgeous, and you could never tell that she was over 7 months pregnant. I absolutely loved her blue veil!

The ceremony was filled with laughter and tears:

After the ceremony, we all headed over to the Mexico City Gourmet restaurant. The owner is a very dear friend of the family and she closed the restaurant down for the entire day for the reception. We were there probably about 7 hours.

A lot of the details were DIY and they were beautiful.

The cake was seriously the best cake I've ever had in my life. It was chocolate with a hint of cherry and so moist!

The DJ was a family friend and he had the dance floor moving for the entire 7 hours!

All in all, it was very different from a NY wedding, but absolutely amazing and fun! Some things went wrong and a lot of details were overlooked (like having enough tables for everyone to sit...) but I think they did a great job for planning the entire thing in 3 months.

Oh, you ready for some tackiness?

Who does this??????? I was worried about wearing white gloves....never mind an entire wedding dress! lol And she kept mentioning aallllll night that she was getting married soon. The bride didn't seem to mind, or at least she didn't show it.
