Pissed....

So I get up this morning to go to the gym at 6AM. I walk over to my car and see a lovely surprise. A nice, pretty yellow INSPECTION TICKET ON MY CAR!!!!! I can't believe that cops actually parade to look around for expired inspections at 1:15AM. Unbelievable. The best part is that across the street, I have this a$$hole neighbor with two commercial vehicles. They are illegal if parked on the street. HE DIDN'T GET A TICKET!!!!! And he always parks his big trucks in the street. So, I really had no idea that I had to get my car inspected. It's pretty new and I was told that you do not have to inspect it until after 2 years of purchasing a brand new car. I confused that with the registration So, I called FH's Mommy. She works in the Pistol Licensing Dept. for the Police Department. She was able to take care of this. I would have had to pay a $125 ticket if she couldn't squash this one! So, now I have to make sure that I get this taken care of. Or else I'll have another ticket tomorrow morning. Sometimes, I really hate cops.

I think I am sleeping over FH's house tonight if I can't get my car inspected today. It seems like it's going to be difficult to get an appointment. I called Pep Boys and they assured me it would be a LONG wait. I rather just take care of it but if it's like a two hour wait, I rather make the appointment for tomorrow.

oh they will get u for anything.... in the middle of the night, i got a ticket for having a clear license plate cover....

Christ, that is annoying. They should be out there fighting crime and going after speeders instead of worrying about a clear license plate cover!!!!

I got one of those the other day..i'd be so annoyed too, especially since your neighbor didn't even get a ticket for a worse offense imo

I know!!!!! He's had these trucks parked for 7 years. Maybe he got a ticket once in those 7 years.

Yes they go around checking all the cars while you are in there, it was by far the worst day ever

ugH!!! happened to me before and it's a pain

that's happened to my FH and it was ridiculous. at least you were able to get your FMIL to take care of it!

Awh, I'm so sorry. Not something you want to deal with first thing in the morning. I'm bad with car stuff too. Did you see that thing on the news, how the cops kept ticketing this truck for being parked illegal, but meanwhile never took the time to see that it was a stolen truck reported missing. And it was one of many that had this same problem. They are so fast to give out tickets.
