Pissed!!!

So my wedding is scheduled for Sept 6, 2010 which is ( Labor Day).....

Well its seems that some people in my family think that i should changed my wedding date because its a holiday weekend and people want to bque ***!!!!!

Are they freaking serious since day 1 i have heard nothing but negative comments about my wedding...

Also they feel since that is a Monday people will have to work the next day!!!! so i said what's the difference when 3 of my cousins got married and we all had to work the next day did i complain no because that was my family!!!

People are something else at this point i am like if you don't like it don't come and save me some money!!! SMH!!!!

wow that really stinks! Try not to let other people ruin your special day though. Thats the day you picked and thats gonna be the most important day of your life! The people who want to be there (and those you really want there) will be there even if it was on a wednesday morning!!! Enjoy your engagement and try to ignore the negative talk! :) Good luck

Thanks I actually calmed my self down at work today because i started feeling sick.... You know i learned a long time ago that not everyone will be happy for you...

As my FH would say they show will go on with or without them.

What is the difference between a Monday when everyone is off or a Sunday? Everyone still has to go to work the next day! Ignore them and if they say something again ask them if they would like to pay for you to have a Saturday night wedding. FMIL dropped it real quick when I told her the difference between a Saturday afternoon and a Saturday night. People are so insensitive.

Exactly it a huge price difference and i don't see too many people handing over there check books..... We did what was best for our budget!!!

SMH...... some people are just a plain old mess!!!!

Everyone no matter what has to put in their opinion! I am going through a similar thing like you and we just have to realize to ignore everyone's comments and don't let it get to you. Tell them to keep it to themselves if its negative or not constructive or helpful. You are only engaged once and you deserve for this to be the happiest time of your life..

Dont change your wedding date for anyone else convienence. People who really love you will show up so dont worry, they will complain but you will see them there....Hang in there, im going through stress with my family too

its your wedding and you picked the date that you wanted, don't listen to people's complaints they have over a year to moan and groan about it. But in the end its you and your FH's wedding and the people that are most important to you and that care about you the most will make it there that day

people can bbq every year...they can't take one year off to celebrate your wedding???!!!

I'm gettng married Sept 5 and I got some comments too....honestly its annoying but just brush it off...and I actually picked the day because I felt it would be easier for most of my OOT guests to have a extra day to travel...oh well!! Screw them!! LOL

i got that in the beginning too....people were like 'you know thats the day after new years right??' o geez i had no idea!!!

Tell your family that it is YOUR day (of course, your FH too ) and if they don't like or approve of the day that your picked, they can check the NO box on the RSVP card. We had a similar situation when deciding between a Saturday night and Sunday afternoon wedding....the difference in price was $65 and we are having roughly 240 guests....unless they want to hand over the $15,000 difference it will cost us to have the Saturday night affair, they should be quiet....

Everyone does what is best for them....try not to let their inconsiderate comments get to you!!!!

ITA !!! that excuse is totally ridiculous. i would def be pissed! ur wedding happens ONCE...they can bbq the weekend before...or after...geezes

unless they are going to help you pay for the wedding then they should really keep their opnions to themselves. You have to do what you guys can afford. If they love you they will be there for you no matter what.

I got alot of grief about having a wedding on a friday night but who cares

That stinks sorry your family is being that way. If it makes you feel any better I think all of us at one time or another felt that their family was being a pain in the azz about our weddings too.

Someone will always have a problem with what you plan. Try not to let it get you down. You are right if it is to hard for them to go to a wedding and work the next day then don't come... I know it is easier said, but there is nothing you can do about it, my money is on they will come, and people just always have to put their 2 cents in.

Try and cheer up, this is only the beginning of your planning and you should enjoy every minute of it
