I have a question about doing place cards for couples who are not married yet. Should both of their names go on the same card (with the person you're closest with first) or should they each get their own card? (We are using escort cards w/ the names on the envelope and the table # inside.)
What is the proper etiquette for this?

I would put them both on the same card - they're a couple.
I would put the names in alphabetical order. Or put it so that the person you're closest to is the one that gets sorted alphabetically with the other placecards.

I would put the together but for my e-party I put the male names first.
