is anyone doing anything different for the placecards. I LOVE the idea of the place card tree. I dont know how that would work w/ having a wedding with 250 people though.
I don't know how different it is, but I REALLY wanna do wine corks as the holders for the cards.

FH and I wanted to name each table a place we have been together and then include a picture of us at that place on the individual place cards. I.E. niagra falls, dominican republic, jamaica, hamptons, lake george, hamtons, atlantic city, orlando you get the idea!
I'm doin envelope place cards....u have a mini envelope w the guests name on the outside and then ur guest see there name open it up and it says u r seated at table....it took me days to find someone but did in California

Naturally.
I know we want to give the jordanian almonds at our wedding, so my idea is to put them in small favor boxes with a nice sticker on top that has the table number and name
We also wanted to do a placecard tree, but I went to a wedding that had one once, and it was a real PITA to walk around the tree trying to find your name. And if you have a wedding that big, there might need to be more than one tree to fit everyone, in which case that just adds to the chaos. We decided to just have a big branchy tree on the placecard table and just sit the placecards underneath it so that its not so crazy trying to find yours. But I still love the idea!

For my engagement party, we had votive candles with the names and table numbers.. They were a huge hit and doubled as an additional favor. They lit up the place card table beautifully and each table!
I am planning on using mini limoncello bottles.... since i plan on my favors being cordial glasses. :)
my RH does one huge seating chart that i can take home. They put it in a scroll and they place it in a huge frame so everyone can see where they will be sitting.

I AM A GENIUS
For people who want to do wine as favors... cut a sliver into the top of the cork and use each wine bottle as the placecared holder! No gift tag, Double duty and that way the bottles are already assigned. Ta Da!
it's not very different since I've seen this done a lot, but we are ditching the actual cards and having a framed seating chart on an easel. The guests can just walk up, find their name and see which table the are seated.
