For place cards, does each person or each couple ( if not single of course) get a place card. I thought each couple did until i realized caterers use them to know who wants what to eat also. like puting different colored stickers or something to determine who wants chicken and who wants beef. So simply is it one per person or one per couple? i cant find an answer.. Thanks

Re: place card Q
I think it depends. If it's a real place card, it sits on the place setting, so everyone gets their own. The ones that sit on a table at the entrance (or on a board or whatever) are really escort cards, not that anyone has an escort these days. Those you could do one per couple if you want. It depends on how many guests you have, and if you're using them as favors, things like that. Since we're having a small wedding, we're doing one per person, but feel free to do two per couple if you're having a big wedding. If you're having 300 people, you'd need a BIG table to put all of them out! And If the card isn't on the place setting, I can't imagine that they'd want the entree on it.

all the weddings ive been to has had one per couple..once on an rsvp card it asked us what we wanted to eat..but i dont see how that works with your placecards bc usually u find your name and take it to your table..im not sure how a hall could get what you are eating through a place card

Re: place card Q
we are having a small wedding, less than 50 people... our planner said we dont need seating charts but still have place cards. i have already bought small frames and was going to have one per couple/single guest. btu if i needed to do one per person, i would think of soemthing else. aslo what about children? do i need to have their name or something on the place cards?
i remember the one wedding we went to had different stickers for whomever was eating what so the people did not have to ask, they just sat it down.

we're doing one per person because we're havign a super small wedding..if we were having like 150+ guests we'd do one per couple.

I think in this case the hall has a copy of the seating chart and they serve the meal according to the seating chart?? Not sure, it just sounds like the only way.

us too.... we're under 70, so everyone (even the 2 year old ) is getting a placecard. I even made them for me and FH. I love our starfish placecards (pics in album), and I would love to keep ours in a china cabinet as a momento.....
