Re: Place cards
I had a groupon for vistaprint that I needed to use, so I bought folded business cards that had a really pretty picture of flowers on it. They have actual table cards on there for less than $5. I just didn't want to be bothered with buying something to put them on, so that's why I got the folded ones. You should check to see if your reception hall gives them to you. Mine does, but I don't like them, that's why I got new ones.

I love the seating chart, you can create it on etsy through a vendor. Print it at staples, frame it and done :)

This is what I'm thinking of doing.
Etsy has some wonderful vendors or you can always do DIY.
Some past brides have done cake pops, votive candles, lolipops, etc to double as a favor and escort card.

Re: Place cards
My FH is designing our table numbers, as for placecards we might send it to weddingink.net or do it ourselves. We bought special paper for it since we don't want to use the ones provided by our reception hall. I'm definitely don't want to spend so much time on it or money since I know guests tend to ignore that detail anyway.
