Hi Everyone, I was wondering if you could please suggest some places for pictures day of though i have some specifics...
Im getting married at the Inn at New Hyde Park, no church, so i'll be getting married at the venue. My groom and groomsmen will be getting ready at his mothers house in new hyde park...Myself and BM's will be getting ready at my parents in Babylon, SO, that being said...I'd like to go somewhere for pictures in between these areas as I dont want to travel too far out of the way prior to going to to the venue.
I looked into Westbury Gardens...its just too complicated. There are licensing contracts needed for all vendors involved and its very expensive because the price increases with the more people you have...and i have a 19 person bridal party. Not ideal.
Planting Fields is beautiful BUT its really out of the way for both limos...
so I would really appreciate any suggestions!! Help, Im so confused!

Re: Place for Pictures
I thought half the appeal of the Inn was their grounds? Why not just keep it easy and take advantage and stay there for photos? I'm sure you can get some amazing shots

Re: Place for Pictures
What about Argyle Park in babylon? It was one of our options, but ended up being too far for us so we took pics at Garden City Gazebo. Both places are beautiful and uncomplicated!

Re: Place for Pictures
The grounds at the inn are beautiful but very very small. It reminds me of just a large backyard...I feel like it doesnt offer much for a variety of different pictures and i think it would be difficult to get great shots of the bridal party since its so large.
I love argyle park, but that would mean the groomsmen would have to travel half way across the island to get there.
I think I have an idea of where the garden city gazebo is, I'll have to check that out.
Thanks for the suggestions ladies!
anyone else?

Re: Place for Pictures
i'm disappointed to hear that there would be so much involved in heading to Westbury Gardens! I was going to look into that as an option for US before we headed over to the Inn to take pics there.
We are getting married in December and the Inn is just decorated beautifully! I have seen such awesome pictures taken there so i'm excited to do that if no other options come about.

I know! I couldn't believe how complicated and expensive it is...I was bummed.
I will def take some pictures at the Inn and will take them all there if I don't find another suitable option...I'm just worried they wont come out the way I have always envisioned my wedding photos...I dont want there to be rooftops in the back ground.

Re: Place for Pictures
Have you talked to your photographer? See if they have shot at the Inn before and have some pics that you can look at to see what they have captured in the past. Tell them what your vision is for your pics.
Maybe make a post for past Inn at New Hyde park brides to see if you can look at some of their pics so that you can get an idea of what scenes you like and don't like?
HTH!

I totally hear what you're saying about not wanting rooftops in your pictures! I'm feeling the same way and I'm getting married at the Inn the following Friday on Oct. 14th...we're only a week apart!! I'm looking into the Nassau County Mueseum of Art for pics. It's beautiful and only $150 but it's in Roslyn. Good Luck!

Re: Place for Pictures
The Queens County Farm Museum should only be about 15 min. away from the Inn. Its actually quite nice, and I'm sure in October it will look really nice. I remember there was a bride on here that was married there and her photos around the farm were beautiful.

Re: Place for Pictures
we just booked old westbury gardens for our pics, at first it sounded like a lot but they said that they already had all the info from our vendors and the contract was signed and sent back within 5 minutes.

Re: Place for Pictures
FWIW, we paid $435 for Old Wesbury Gardens and every single penny was worth it to me. The photos are stunning and as far as I'm concerned, it was the right choice for me. We might've been able to book somewhere else cheaper, but everytime we get compliments on our photo location, it reaffirms my decision.
