Placecard Addressing Question

How would you address a placecard for a young boy? Would it be Mister John Smith? Someone suggested Master John Smith, but that sounds funny to me. Anyone know? I'm giving children their own placecards. TIA

I personally would probably put mister, b/c I agree master sounds funny to me. However it might be fun for him to see master in front of his name ;)

Ok, thanks ladies. I really had never heard of 'master'- guess I'll keep it as that, although it sounds weird to me.

Thanks ladies

I think master is adorable, I think I will do that for my FH's nephews. It's cute!

For children the correct way is Master and a Mister is for adults. I do wedding planning from time to time so that is the way I always address the place cards and have seen them done that way.
