I was thinking of using little favor bags with handles...and printing the name and table number on clear labels and sticking them to the bags... which will be filled with candy... like hershey's kisses or something.... and the handles tied together with a ribbon......
I think it is cute idea. Is it doubling as a favor?
My only advice would be to make sure the print is dark & large enough for people to easily read

Not really... I mean they could keep it, but they'd be getting an additional favor at the end of the night

Well I think it is in no way a dumb idea..I am trying to come up with something different for our place cards as well...I was going to do the fancy holders but I'm not sure now.
But I think everyone will love Candy and it gives them a bag to hold other things in as well

A lot of people do this. I think it's a good idea, saves having to get separate place cards.

I think its cute and different, people would probably like the candy and will eat in the waiting time of waiting for the BP to make its big entrance so it will give them to do and talk about

Glad you like the idea... you're welcome to steal it! But that's just a picture I posted to give you guys an idea of what I meant... I haven't even started looking for the exact ones yet since I haven't picked out my color scheme. I found those in a google image search for 'favor bags.'
