Placecards...I have a question

How are you all wording your placecards?
I dont know if I should print them up as:

Mr & Mrs Smith
Table 1

OR

John and Mary Smith
Table 1

Is there a proper way?
Please share how you did yours.

That's what we did, too. Unless the names were separated on the RSVP line (e.g., Mary Smith and John Smith) b/c the wife wanted to be identified separately.
