Places for RD near Huntington for under 20 people?

Places for RD near Huntington for under 20 people?

I thought FILs were going to want all OOTers at the rehearsal dinner, but FH spoke to them last night and they are thinking just immediate family. Which I like better because we can have it on Thursday possibly, instead of the day before the wedding.

Up until now, we were looking at places that would close for us - smaller places that if we had 40-50 people, they would close for us for a few hours. (FILs are in FL so we are looking into venues for them.)

Places I've considered are FH Riley's, Meehans, Rosewood Inn. Does anyone know of any place that has small private rooms? Or even just a nice restaurant that we can have a big table at?

Doesn't have to be in Huntington, although FH and I live here and love the area - FH's parents are from the area too and really like it. But my family lives in Wantagh, so anywhere between the two is ok I think for an idea.

TIA!

No one has any ideas at all?

What about Four? I know it's expensive but for a small group you might be able to get some sort of deal? I was going to suggest Rosewood as well. Also, what about the Lessings place in Huntington? Finnegan's?

Bonnie (beachbum) had her shower at Meehan's and it was awesome!!! Perfect for 20 people! I mean, perfect!!!!!

An italian place that I love in Huntington is on Jericho Tpke (close to the Honda dealership) called Louie's Brooklyn Pizza. BEST rigatoni ala vodka ever.

I think Matt (FH) got sick once at that pizza place? Can't remember if he loved it or got sick from it but I will consider it, thanks!

And Meehan's has the private room, so Matt mentioned that to his parents last night. Was Bonnie's shower in the private room? Is it big? (Actually, Matt's 10 year HS reunion was there. I didn't go because I wanted to let him have his reunion time alone, but he would know the size ... )

Love how the only people who responded to me are people I consider 'friends' on this board, not just 'other LIWers'

Well it just so happens that I adore all people mentioned in this thread. Jen, Jen and Bonnie!!!!

I am still thinking of other places for 20 and under for you. What is the furthest distance you'd want to travel?

I haven't been to Four - how is it? I picture a club-like atmostphere - and that's not what I want for my RD. Is that an appropriate estimation? FMIL and my mom have met - but FFIL hasn't met any of my family, and FH's grandparents will be there too, and they haven't met any of my family either ... so I want something a little intimate, or that is at least quiet enough to promote conversation ... would Four allow this??

thanks for being the first responder

Forgot to mention that we have considered Finnegan's. Now that we are looking at 13-15 people (my grandparents are invited but have varying levels of dementia, and unfortunately, they will not be attending, as much as I would like them there ... ), I think it might work well. Food is excellent too.

Now I want to go there! Too bad I've been drinking the port tonight ....

Awww sweetie don't thank me...we shared pedicure time...we've bonded!!!

Four is not going to give you that at all. It's 'trendy' and what not...the food is good, but if you are looking for more intimate not the place.
What about having the RD at the Fox Hollow? Their menu at the Rose and Hunt is amazing...and I'm sure you could talk to your banquet manager and they could set you up with something.

I would prefer to make it within 10 miles or so of Wantagh / Lev., so that my family doesn't have to go that far. (They think Huntington is Guam, but oh well.) FH's grandparents live in Carle Place, so something in that area would actually work well - it's only 5 miles or so from Wantagh and 10 or so from me in Huntington, but I don't care how far we have to travel - everyone's doing so much for us to begin with.

Vincent's in Carle Place might work but from what I remember it is VERY LOUD there.

Only problem with Finnegan's is for the buffet menu it's 20+ people. And don't apologize for the port.......I've had a bad stomache for 2 days but the new idiot at work is driving me crazy the chardonay has been uncorked!!! :lol!

That's an idea .... if we were going to have other folks there, like OOTers, I would want the RH to be a 'surprise' in a way .. but being that it's just immediate family, it might work.

Did you sister and her coworkers get the cookies I sent her? Did she mention it? They were soooo nice to me and Dutchie that I felt that I had to do something special for them.

I just came back. I just printed one each of our menu and ceremony program. LOVE them. I'm awesome.

Yeah, Bon - did have her shower in the back room at Meehan's. It's seriously perfect for 13-15 or 20 people. They even have a little bar set up. If it's a good price, I say look no further.

Only drawback - parkings a bitchh.

I love you ladies!!!! We're DEFINITELY having drinks after the weddings.

Well, we can just go as a big dinner reservation, right? They have that whole big area next to the bar, we could just put a bunch of tables together, and if we do it on a Thurs night, it will be sort of quiet ... But if there are a bunch of people at the bar, it could be loud ....

Want to go out???? We can be wine buddies. I am loving the wine lately ...

Actually they did get them and everyone loved them...unfortunatly Kimberly got the crumbs!!!
They loves Dutchess, thought she was a sweetie!!! I've been meaning to let youknow that but I've just been overwhelmed. The entire staff loved them...I guess that mean someone has to buy me the KitchenAide Mixer off my registry so I can make my sister cookies!!!!!!!!
I took it off my registry because both stores that I am registered at has a 8-10 week wait on the cobalt blue one!!!
