For those of you who are not getting married at your RH or a church, but chose a location like a public park, beach, etc., what is your backup plan in case of inclement weather?
FH and I just decided that instead of doing our ceremony at my church, we would do something at my families small vineyard. I never thought about inclement weather and my idea to combat that would be to get a tent, but I've read that it may not necessarily be enough, especially on grassy areas that get muddy.
I'm at a loss, but love this idea. Many people need to pay so much money to use a vineyard space and I have complete access to one so would really like to make this work.
Thoughts ladies?

Re: Plan B
I love the idea of having the wedding at the vineyard. Maybe talk to a company that has tents and see what they can do. Maybe there is a flooring or something that they can put down. It is worth the call and finding out.

I agree with Mara, definitely look into event planning companies. I originally wanted and outdoor wedding in a beach but I changed my mind. I did reach out to some companies and they do offer tents, flooring, chairs, etc. for out door weddings and they have packages depending on your needs. Good Luck

Re: Plan B
All great suggestions ladies thank you. And Sarah, I had that same thought about contacting my RH as a backup plan. My only concern with that is giving them enough time to set up. Long Island weather can be fickle at times and who knows on the day of whether it'll really be that bad
I was also speaking to my mother about other places on the property that could be potential ceremony locations and we do have a tented area that usually has plants underneath it, but not in the vineyard unfortunately (we are also a full service flower/vegetable nursery as well) so that could be used as a backup as well. Guess if we know somewhat in advance it could be cleaned up and look presentable if the weather is really that bad.
Again, thank you for the input I will definitely look into what the tent companies say as well :)
