Planned parent hood needs to get their act together..

So I called about a month ago to make an appt to get BC pills..fine..the lady told me it would be $40 for a consultation and 6 mth supply of pills and then after the 6mths it would be $20 a month. I called today because I had a question about my birth certificate and then I wanted to confirm the info. the other lady told me...WELLL she told me thats wrong, its $40 for a consultation and $20 for each pack of pills...grr...I knew it was too good to be true. But they need to get their information together...vent over..

However, 20 bucks a pack isnt bad either..I just think its wrong that they are giving me different info.

Price is NOT bad. I *have* insurance (and have to pay about $100 out of pocket for my monthly contribution towards the premium) AND my nuvaring is a $25 copay every month.

So $20/mo. is not bad!

yeah 20/month is not bad at all. i pay 30/month WITH insurance - 30 is my copay.
but yeah i wouldnt have believed for a second if she said 40 for the checkout AND a 6 month supply. that would be the 'deal' of a lifetime lol. i would prob leave my ob/gyn that ive been with since i was 16 for that deal!!

Honestly? Planned Parenthood is a godsend of an organization - we are SO lucky to even HAVE this kind of resource. Having them be a bit disorganized and less than perfect... it's a small price to pay.

Imagine if you had to go to a regular doctor with no insurance like that! You'd be paying an awful lot more! I used to pay almost that much WITH insurance! (I don't take bc anymore, just condoms - long story)

I understand the frustration of having the price changed on you, I really do, but I just hope you understand how lucky you are to have this resource.

Oh, dont get me wrong, I am more than happy with the price. Im just a little upset because the lady I spoke to the first time told me $40 for consultation and 6mth supply..I was a bit shocked..so I asked her 2 more times during our conversation just to make sure..and she agreed both times...and now I get a diff. story. Just a little vent thats all..Im still keeping my appt. and Im still happy with the price.
