Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

Hi all,

Just got engaged on our anniversary, and it's our dream to get married the same day. Have any of you planned and booked your whole wedding in less than a year? Any tips?

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

I planned my wedding in the 13 months. Right now your #1 thing is to find a venue and get your date booked. Def don't waste time fall is a really popular time to get married. After that booking everything else is easy.

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

Thanks, girls!! :) Making the invite list tonight. Gonna reach out to some venues as soon as it's done! Not 100% sure what we are looking for venue-wise...As of now, we just want something really nice, hopefully unique in some way that can fit the amount of people we hope to invite...the date is obviously very important to us, and having lots of the people we love there.

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

I helped my friend plan her wedding in 4 months. It's definitely possible, you just need to figure out your game plan and may have to get creative with certain things. For starters, figure out your minimum and secure your venue. After that you should be able to find everything. Good luck!

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

Definitely if you're getting married in a church, call them and set up am appointment now. My church was booked already for our date, so we had to go to another church. Next, call venues and then you can make a list of what's next important to you and make appointments. I did a lot of emails to get information from vendors

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

We had 9 months to plan and are 7 months out. Honestly, we don't have much done (just have a venue) and I'm confident we will be fine. I think booking the venue is the most important thing for the rest should be easy!

Planning a Wedding in Less than a year? Tips?

I would say make sure you get a venue asap then focus on getting the big things done like dress, photographer, dj. I have contacted videographers for my wedding date in 8 months and some are booked already. Also make sure you look at several different venues and call ahead to make sure your date is available (unless you are willing to change your date). You don't want to fall in love with a place that doesn't have availability! We booked in September 2013 and originally wanted a certain date in september 2015 but it was already booked so we switched to may 2015.
