Planning the honeymoon!!!!

I'm starting to plan my honeymoon I'm not sure where I want to go.

I'm an extemely girly-girl when it comes to places to stay and I can't stand anything dirty!

I was looking for something on the beach, high-end, all inclusive, all adult, either in Cancun or somewhere in the Bahamas area.

Money doesn't really matter because we can only stay less than a week anyways.

Any suggestions? Has anyone been to any Excellence Resorts or the Le Blanc Spa?

If you go to Bahamas, the best place to stay is Atlantis but there can be lots of kids there, thats the only problem.

Cancun, I only know of party areas and stuff

theres some all inlcusives outside of cancun..riviera maya area....aventura spa palace..have you looked into couples or sandals in the caribbean? they have alot of stuff

there is a sandals in the bahamas, its right in between Atlantis and nassau but completely on its own with nothing else around. It looked big and nice but i pulled up to the beach there on a jetski and the beach area seemed pretty small and wasnt crazy about it. However, it is very easy to get to atlantis from the sandals but also go to the downtown area and nassau

I just started to look outside of cancun and some of these all inclusives look nice.

My FH wants a place like Sandals, but not an actual Sandals because we had a friend that had a bad time there.

I have a bridesmaid that went to Moon Palace, and she loved it, but she isn't as picky as
I am about stuff like bugs and stuff.

if you do cancun or riviera maya (both mexico) go to either sandals resort (so you know there are no kids) or in cancun the Oasis hotel. Both have all inclusives goodluck!

yup.. that's the case!

we went to excellence riveria cancun for our HM and loved it. that being said, we did have a minor problem w/ bugs one day in the room. they leave fresh flowers, and one day, under the rose, there were a group of tiny little bugs. we just asked for no more flowers in the room. other than that, we really enjoyed the hotel. it's adults only, the beach is nice, the grounds are beautiful, the spa was wonderful, excellent service. we had zero complaints.

we are taking another trip to mexico next month, this time in cancun on the hotel zone called the Sun Palace. it's also couples only, all inclusive, and the beach is supposed to be one of the largest for resorts in the area. i'm hoping this one one will be just as good.

my friend went to the Royal (not the Royal Hideaway) in playa del carmen for her HM in Nov 2007, and she had problems with bugs in two different rooms she stayed in. unfortunately, it's not too uncommon to see bugs in mexico.

Ewwwww...I wasn't ever so picky, but then I was put in a hospital dorm for one of my medical school rotations and I got bed bugs. I got hives everywhere!!!!

Maybe Hawaii?

Anywhere warm has bugs...Hawaii will have them and even FL has them....if you stay at a nice place the bugs will be at a minimum though.

i was gonna say the same thing, anywhere tropical will have some bugs around, just hopefully not in the hotel room lol. But otherwise once youre out, it can be hard to avoid at times

I only care about no bugs in the hotel. But how do I know which places are nice enough not to have bugs indoors?

If they are outsid, that's ok, that's where they live!

never been but both have excellent reviews on tripadvisor!! there is also Secrets resorts and El Dorado Seaside Suites. If you go to Bahamas or Cabo there is the One and Only Resorts but they are not AI. but they are supposedly more luxorious than the Ritz. If you go to Jamaica, Couples Resorts are supposed to be the best AI's there!

We stayed at a 5 star resort in brazil and we had teeny tiny ants in the room one night. We realized it was from when we had wine or champagne in the room- they must have smelled it or something. But after the maids cleaned, they were gone. I HATE bugs, but seriously these were so small and there wern't thaat many of them, that it didn't bother me. I think they are inevidable no matter where you go as long as its tropical. Don't let it ruin a good trip!

We are going to Cabo San Lucas and staying at the Rui Palace ALL Inclusive -

I heard great things about it - I hope there are no bugs in my room-

you mentioned you are only going for a week..hawaii isnt gonna be a good choice IMO. with teh flying time and what you would want to see i dont think it can be pulled off

I can confirm that FL has Lots of unique bugs - I agree anywhere will have bugs
