Is anyone planning their own shower? It is very common lately for brides to be doing the work because they want things a certain way. I know soooo many people doing this...LoL. I'm not planning my own but I hinted at 3 places where I would like it to be to my mom and sis..LoL....My sister did the exact same thing to my mom. My mom had my sister's shower at the Carltun and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! and my sister was totally surprised but I was thinking of being involved in my shower. ( i don't know if my mom will let me because she is probably trying to throw me off already...LoL) anyone else doing that??

I want it to be a suprise. I've always wanted a Suprise Bday party and never got one, so i figure a suprise shower would be just as good. SO i want no part in my shower.

i HATE surprises more then life itself.. my girls and mom know better then to surprise me.. so i told them all i wantt o know is WHEN i dont even need to know where just when. and everything else is up to them but if i have an idea im allowed to share and tell them if i would be upset if it wasnt there! hehehe... the girls and my mom and FMIL will be doing the planning i dont want to know anything but then WHEN!

yeah i know ...she hasnt even asked me about the wedding since she had her baby ...i planned her whole baby shower and was there when the baby was delivered ...and i know she isnt going to do anything for me ...i hardly talk to her now ! its very upsettng

i dont need all the specifics but i hate suprises i always want to know- i am a nosey person so i would prob find out anyway...
but i want to know when it is also i dont really need to know where it is- but i am going to give hints along the way and also give some input and ideas i like...

like i dont want assigned seating at my bridal party--- i want FH and my family to get to know each other better nad also i dont want the ladies to feel so restricted...so i want them to be able to choose where they sit and eat
also...i want fun games...
and i wouldnt even mind having it in my backyard- but since i am getting married in May and the shower will prob be in Feb or March it most likely will be at a resturant

I literally had this conversation with my mom last night. I told her I don't care if I am surprised or not. I told her I'll help her if she wants me to.

After planning my friends shower that is this weekend I think I might help plan mine! Having to do it allll by myself was really stressful and I don't want my BP to feel overwhelmed!

There is a big part of me that wants to plan it myself but as soon as I mentioned it to my mom and sisters, they looked at me like I had 12 heads and told me 'That's just not how it is done....'

OMG I feel the same way.. I've ALWAYSSSSSSS wanted a surprise party.. when I was younger on my bday I would come home and run into every room hoping people would jump out and yell surprise.. wow I'm a loser hahahahaha

ahhh me too - i never ever had one!! this is my one shot and i am almost 100% sure i will know when it is just bc i am so nosy!

I love surprises, and can't wait! Our parents had a suprise e-party for us, and it was awesome! I have all confidence in my girls, mom, and fmil. I can't wait to see what they cook up for me! The only thing I did mention is that I would really like it at a house. I can't see paying so much to have it in a palce with a time limit. I like my parties to go on and on. I actually have though about how fun it would be to have the 'bridal shower' then a co-ed party after. I think it would be fun for the girlie part, but I love to find any excuse for a party!
