Plans for Valentine's day?

Original post by yelley77

Hey girlies!!

Well, most of you will jump down my throat for saying this, but i'm not a big valentine's day girl. I think it's a commerical holiday that is totally overrated. I don't need a special day picked out to tell the man I'm marrying that I love him with an over priced box of chocolate's. With that said, FH enjoys the day, lol. We made reservations at Blackstones for the 15th and that's it. No presents, maybe just a card (it kills me to be FORCED to purchase a card for $3.95 for THAT day when FH and I give one another cards on random days throughout the year).

Anyway, I'm not a total bah-humbug... what's everyone else doing?

i have no clue yet what we're doing yet, we didn't really discuss it. We just have so many other things in february and talked more about those things...His b-day feb 5th, mine feb 15th and then 17th our anniversary. I don't want to do anything too big or spend too much money...We already have our b-days to buy for and obviously with the wedding so close we need to save

sounds like you'll be having one big celebration in the month of February!!

Getting ready for my wedding! I didn't pick it because of Vday, I picked that date because it is right before the winter break so we can take a honeymoon right after the wedding!

Re: Plans for Valentine's day?

Who knows hopefully something fun this is the first year out of all the years we have been together that we will actually be spending Valentines Day together- every other year he was either traveling or I was stuck in another state- knock on wood we will be together and it should be nice no matter what we end up doing.

First I totally agree! Second Blackstone is absolutely delish!!!

I think if anything we will go out to dinner, the past 2 years we have done a picnic at home and had our favorite Lobster, and i've loved 2 both years of doing this so I might keep it a tradition!
