My mother is planning an after party after the wedding at my cousins restaurant. FH and I were talking and thought of going. When I mentioned this to my mom, she was not thrilled about the idea.
Her: It's your wedding night, don't you want it to be special for you and your husband?
Me: I guess, but I kind of know what to expect already!
Her:
What do you girls think? What are your plans?

We are on the fence. We might go to a bar or something just to hang out for a little while longer. Our reception doesn't end until 1:30 AM so we might all be wrecked by that time anyway and just head to the hotel.

Since we are staying at the hotel I plan to change and go out to either the bar in Danfords or a bar near Danfords with whomever stays at the hotel to continue partying.

I would say go...usually the afterparties are the best part! You have the entire honeymoon to stay with your FH! Most people say that the wedding goes by sooo fast! At least you will be able to extend your night a bit!!!

We are having an after party at a bar a block away from the hotel where are hotel block is (and also where FH and I are staying). We are definitely going to the after party (that is, if I don't pass out first bc it will be like 1am lol)

We are not having an after party. Our flight leaves at 7 am the next morning so we will have to be up by 4:30. I jsut want to spend my wedding night just me and FH

Going to the bar... were taking the bus back to Rockaway with our guests so we'll most likely go out after... unless one of us is completely bombed... and by one of us i mean FH

We will go back to the hotel bar and hang out with everyone and then get some sleep since we have to get up early the next morning for our HM

We're not having an after party bc the wedding doesn't end until 1:30am. However if when we get back to the hotel everyone is hanging out and having fun we will definitely be hanging out with them.

for both our events we will have LOTS of people coming from NY to Michigan and from Michigan to NY.
There's no way we're leaving them to fend for themselves. We are having everyone meet and hang out at the hotel bar and we will stay with them until the end of the night. Whoever goes longest!

i agree with you....I want the time we have with family and friends to last as long as possible We are planning on hanging out with them at the hotel until everybody passes out

we are having an after party at the hotel bar...they will be keeping the bar open late for us! we will definitely be there hanging out with everyone and we are also going to order a bunch of pizza's to help with the drinking munchies everyone will have LOL!

A lot of our guests went back to the hotel to party and DH & I originally were planning on joining them for a bit. Well the night went by so fast and we felt like we didn't even spend that much time together, that we decided to just go back to our room and enjoy the rest of the night by ourselves

We plan on going to the after party at our hotel! I want the fun and celebration to last as long as possible since it's only going to happen once! Unless, FH can't stand by the end of the wedding...

probably going back to the hotel we blocked off some rooms for our guests and hanging out at the bar.. then i dont know if we are staying there ourselves or if we have a house by then, going home to our house

I always LOVE it when the bride and groom hang out afterwards. Especially if they get changed into jeans. It's like 'hey, we're married, hi!!' It's always a great time too!
If they don't hang out, it's kind of like they're an enigma and only meant to be seen during the wedding (not before or after!!!)
I say hang out. Go upstairs first if you want!!!!
