My mother is planning an after party after the wedding at my cousins restaurant. FH and I were talking and thought of going. When I mentioned this to my mom, she was not thrilled about the idea.
Her: It's your wedding night, don't you want it to be special for you and your husband?
Me: I guess, but I kind of know what to expect already!

I always LOVE it when the bride and groom hang out afterwards. Especially if they get changed into jeans. It's like 'hey, we're married, hi!!' It's always a great time too!
If they don't hang out, it's kind of like they're an enigma and only meant to be seen during the wedding (not before or after!!!)
I say hang out. Go upstairs first if you want!!!!

Our wedding ends at 8pm so we will DEFINITELY be back at the hotel bar partying it up!!!! Hopefully we've got a decent amount of people staying the night...I'm worried that most people will go back home since its a Sunday night but I guess we'll see.

We're having an afterparty at the hotel....we plan on attending and when it's time to go to bed then well...you know!

We are renting one of the conference rooms at the hotel and having Karaoke after. We are buying a bunch of booze and beer to continue the night! The bar closes at 1 and our wedding doesn't end till 12:30, so there's nothing to do, I would hate to be in bed by 1:15

We will go back to the hotel bar and hang out with everyone and then get some sleep since we have to get up early the next morning for our HM
Same exact thing for me!
We are keeping the hotel bar open until 2am for after the RH, and then we will get some sleep for the HM the next day

we're definitely not having an after party. our names and 'after party' just don't go well together in a sentence. in fact, our names and the word 'party' don't go very well together, so even the fact that we're having a party to celebrate the marriage is pushing it. we will be going back to a hotel, by ourselves.

We're not having an after party bc the wedding doesn't end until 1:30am. However if when we get back to the hotel everyone is hanging out and having fun we will definitely be hanging out with them.

Some ppl may go out, but FH and I will be hosting a brunch the morning after, not to mention taking the Outlaws to the vineyards. I need the sleep.

I would say go...usually the afterparties are the best part! You have the entire honeymoon to stay with your FH! Most people say that the wedding goes by sooo fast! At least you will be able to extend your night a bit!!!

i don't know what to do about this either... the thought of planning an after party for AFTER *The Party* seems really overwhelming!!! our wedding ends at only 5 pm though, so we definitely want to do something, b/c it's going to be like 'now what???' we have a lot of OOT guests coming in, so we want to hang out w/ them. i wish we had a hotel that had a bar there, but it's a pretty basic hotel, b/c we just wanted something that was closest to our house, and affordable for guests. i'm worried about my mom though, b/c she isnt remarried and doesn't have a b/f right now, and what is she going to do afterwards? i don't want her to feel left out, but it's hard b/c i know a lot of ppl will probably want to drink, and she doesn't drink either. argh... logistics are annoying!!

Our reception will end around midnight but I'm sure we'll be up to partying some more...probably at a friends house.

Originally we were all for an after party but then we started talking to people and really thought about it and it's our wedding night! We are going to be surrounded by everyone all day long and it'll be hectic so we'll most likely be exhausted and on top of that I just want it to be me and him that night, I figured we'll have the rest of our lives to party with our family and friends.
