Plant Help

I'm am clueless when it comes to plants (I've killed catcuses!). Anyway, someone gave me a tulip plant which has pretty yellow flowers but they are starting to fall off. Will I get more flowers? Do I need to plant them outside? Right now they are on the windowsill and I'm considering giving them to my mother because she loves plants, but I really want to try to keep this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you plant it outside? I would plant them outside, in the sun, water with miracle grow, and it will come back!

Tulips are a Bulb plant. This means that you can plant the bulbs outside and they will come back year after year.

They only come up in the spring then they die and come back the following year.

I would plant them in the back yard for next year. I'm not sure when you should plant them though. I don't think it matters weather the plant is still flowering, you can transplant the bulbs any time.

Make sure you plant them about 6 inches below ground.

Hope this helps.

I am not sure when you can plant it. It won't get new flowers this year though - but that bulb will produce tulips every year to come!

I normally plant bulbs in the Fall, but I cannot imagine it's not okay to do it now...

Re: Plant Help

Thanks... I live in an apartment so I'm going to bring it over to my parents house to plant. AT least I know I won't kill it that way!
