I had my boobs done, and I couldnt be happier. I would do it all over again. I wanted to do it for a long time, and since I didnt have a wedding to pay for anymore, I wanted to do something for myself. Its nice to be able to wear some nice bras, and I feel better about myself in clothing. Its definitly not for everyone, and if you go to a good doctor they will make you look proportionate to your size and nobody would even know that you had it done.

heidla - if you don't mind my asking, who was your doctor? were you happy with him/her? and happy with the whole outcome? reason I ask, I had mine done 6 years ago - college graduation present :) and now, one of them needs to be replaced and my original doctor has retired.

Ask me again in 30 years when everything starts to sag... Everyone on Extreme Makeover looks great, but I watched that Swan show and think everyone looks creepy at the end, faces too tight and fake-looking. Joan Rivers looks like a corpse with scary eyebrows from too many uplifts...I wouldn't have anything done now, but I was listening to Howard Stern (I know, it's my fault for listening!) and he said everything goes downhill for women bodywise at 25. What if it is all downhill from here!
I agree ur are so funny!!

I would love to get a reduction! Tell me the truth, how much pain were you in after? So many people tell me a reduction is worse pain after than an increase. I hate pain... I am such a chicken!
I'm not gonna lie, it was very painful. I cried for about 20 min when they woke me up at the end of the surgery. But then the nurse gave me a little button and ahhhh...the morphine kicked in.
The only thing that really hurt was when they pulled the drains out. OUCH!! I hadn't take my pain meds yet and he just yanked them out.
I was uncomfortable for the first two weeks, no real pain (I had pills for that) but just restless and immobile. I could only sleep on my back for 2-3 weeks. I had dissolvable stitches so I didn't go through the pain of having staples removed.

I want a boob job. How do your breasts feel after you get it done? Do they feel funny? I want a nose job because I don't like the bridge of my nose.

I would never get any kind of plastic surgery unless it was absolutely necessary like a matter of like and death!

If I had the money and the courage, possibly. My main problem is that I am too scared, I am the biggest wimp when it comes to doctors.

Re: plastic surgery....
My mom had to have a double masectomy and (thankfully) her insurance paid for the boob job after... they did this really unique surgery where they took muscle from her tummy and just pushed it up into her chest... surgery was for like 10 hours! But I have to say, after watching what she went through with the surgery, the blood, the stiches, the pain... everything, I would never voluntarily choose to do that to my body... maybe if I have to because of something similar, but I would never go through that kind of pain and discomfort on a volunteer basis...

Re: plastic surgery....
I saw the end of the Swan on Monday night, and I was surprised because I thought the one girl's transformation was really good because it didn't even look like she had plastic surgery. But if you saw her before pic, she wasn't so bad looking. I doubt they had to do much work. But the other girl still got picked for the stupid pageant, probably because she had a more drastic transformation which isn't always good.

Re: plastic surgery....
I had them done in '97 and I was told by the doctor that they are not guaranteed for life - you would think at those prices they would be :) and just recently, I noticed that one of them has tightened and gotten very hard and is painful at times. I was told that that may happen - hardening of scar tissue. and it needs to be replaced. I worry becasue now we have a house/mortgage and its not on my parents tab as it was in 1997 :) but its important so it has to be done.

I had them done when I was still in Tennessee. So, I don't think I am any help. Sorry.

It varies. For my breast augmentation I paid $1500. Apparently I got an amazing deal. I hear people pay $5000- $10000. I guess things are just cheaper in the south.
