Re: Plastic Surgery - Nose Job
I didn't have anything cosmetic done, but i did have surgery for a deviated septum & some other breathing issues in March..and let me tell you it was pretty nasty and painful.
I was not allowed to work out for 4 weeks..had swelling for a few months..and my nose is still sensitive in some areas if i press on it. I also had bandages on my nose for about 2 weeks...so no washing your face normally & no washing your hair easily. Just some things to think about...and if you decide to go ahead with it plan accordingly timewise with your wedding...here is a pic of me the day after...and then a week after.

Yeah, it hurt alot! It looked like i got in a fight and lost..haha. I can breathe so well now it's amazing...I also used to be sick all the time too because my sinuses never drained and i sleep alot better because i can actually breathe thru my nose...it was definitely worth it...but i can't imagine how much more it would've hurt if i got anything cosmetic done..i am happy with my big nose...but can understand if someone is not and wants to change it...for me it was my teeth

I would be soo afraid that the docs would mess my nose up and become even worse, thats my fear, Im not going to touch my nose, its fine now, I guess when I was younger I wanted everything done, lol. Yeah my teeth had a gap in the middle and always hated it but it stuck with me forever and now I am soo used to it

I didn't have a nose job, but I did have a deviated septum fixed. I thought I'd be in a lot of pain but, surprisingly, I wasn't. I didn't even take the pain killers they gave me. I went to a great doctor who didn't use packing, which made it less painful. I used Dr. Richard Hamburgh located in St. James. He was great! FM me if you want more info.

Re: Plastic Surgery - Nose Job
I had a nose job about 10 years ago. It took over six months for the swelling to go down and I had minimal changes made. For the first 5 months, it was bigger than when I started. My nose also ran for months. And you can't blow it. So snot just runs for months. Its was not glamorous. There was only pain for a few days; after that there was a lot of pressure.
However, perhaps they are less invasive these days, though by HamptonBride's photos, I'd say not. That was exactly what I looked like too. I did not leave the house for 3 weeks. Oh, and you can get a tan for months either. And the wind hurts when it blows.
BUT... I would do it again in a second.

you know, they have something now called a non-surgical nose job. apparently, they inject restalyne (sp?) and it allows them to reshape your nose. it costs about $1000 and lasts for a year. maybe that would be an option?
it doesn't work on everyone, but it might be something to think about.

Less bruising because i had nothing cosmetic done...and i followed the Dr's orders to bulk up on vitamin C before hand to help prevent it. Everything done was 'internal' as opposed to a nose job that affects the 'external' as well... just something to keep in mind.
ETA: I couldn't smile normally for the longest time because of the swelling at the base of my nose...which freaked me out at first! haha He made an incision at the base of my nose to build up my nasal passages with cartelage.

I've had Restalyne injections too (no I am not Janice Dickinson) and its only good for adding bulk; it can;t take away. I had it injected into my lips & in my laugh lines & in the dent in my chin. That took 3 vials, which are $1000-1200 each. And it lasted about 8 months
