Platinum wedding bands
My fh is looking for his wedding band. We saw some platinum ones yesterday and it was around 700 for them. This sounds high. Are the platinum bands for men and women, plain without diamonds this high?? I am also getting a plain one for the times I don't want to wear a diamond band.

Re: Platinum wedding bands
Platinum is very expensive but it is very strong and worth it in my opinion (you are going to wear it the rest of your life!)...I think we paid $550 for my plain 3mm band and $800 for my DHs 4.5mm band. We bought our bands at a designer shop so you can get a better deal by going to a discounter.

Re: Platinum wedding bands
We were initially surprised by the prices of wedding bands. My DH band was around $900, and is on the thick side. The weight has a lot to do with it. When you compare the weight of plain bands and those with diamonds, they are a lot heavier, hence the higher price.I agree that strength of the Platinum is worth the extra money.

Re: Platinum wedding bands
For some reason, my FH wanted titanium over platnium. He liked the light feel of titanium, plus I think it makes him feel more manly since it is the same material they use to make airplanes! Titanium is extremely strong and durable, yet it has no value since it is not a precious metal. But, if you are looking for a good valued ring if you don't want to spend money right away on platnium, titanium is an option. Anyway, his ring was like $100 with engraving.

Re: Platinum wedding bands
Jennbaby we are going saturday to your Jeweler. We were just in the area of a jewelery shop this weekend and I wanted to see what type of ring fh would be interested in and he likes to price shop. I know he would never buy one immediately without shopping first. I am looking forward to seeing what your jeweler has. That is on the agenda for Saturday with my mom, yeah!!!

Re: Platinum wedding bands
just asking because i get nervous when i see you posting jewlery lol, i don't want you to be unhappy with my jeweler.. the platinum depends on the weight of the ring itself.Good Luck where ever you decide to purchase from.
