DH and I are looking to go to Playa del Carmen for our one year anniversary trip. Any hotel recommendations? We are looking for something all inclusive on the ocean. As of right now RIU Palace Rivera Maya is on the top of our list.

I've been to Occidental Allegro Playa Del Carmen and loooooved it! It's all inclusive and beautiful. There was an affiliated hotel next door that was couples only. I'll try to find the name of it. You will love Playa del Carmen. I'm hoping to go back for our anniversary as well.

One of my co-workers went to the Riu there and raves about it all the time. She's stayed at a couple of different RIU resorts in Mexico and that was actually her favorite.

Went to the Royal Playa del Carmen 2 yrs ago and LOVED it. Smaller yet not a boutique resort, within walking distance from Playa del Carmen main strip w/ shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Awesome all around.

ITA - the royal was one of the best places i've ever stayed!!

FH and I went to Secrets Capri in Rivera Maya last summer. It was SOOO NICE! The rooms were beautiful and all had a 4 post bed, seperate jacuzzi tub and shower. The food was SOOO good and it was a very clean and nice place!
