NO and it's NONE OF THEIR F'ING BUSINESS.

I HATE that about these places. I would've walked out immediately. Actually, that's what made me order my gown at Lillette's instead of another store. The second this other store got a look at my e-ring they started treating me REALLY nice.............

NO! That is SUCH a bad way to do sales!!

I think at one salon they asked me what I did but I think it was in a casual way to make conversation... I can't even remember if that really happened or not though.

I've had them ask what I do, but it was in more of a chatty way...they asked stuff like that at RHs, but not bridal salons

Re: please be honest..about your experience

The only questions bridal salons EVER asked me was about dress styles...I'd be very taken back if they started to ask me more personal questions, like what my parents did for a living.

ummm excuse me, i would tell them that you were gonna buy your dress with them but since they asked you these inappropriate questions, you are going to their competitor and just name drop a place for the he ll of it. never take off your ring or hide anything cuz of other people. even if it were that you were having a big wedding, had a high paying job, you spend what you want and not a dime more,...no one should count your money. thats bad business and so rude!!!

well the town i live they ask b4 i try on.then as im trying on they ask. i know WHY they are asking. but it baffles me that they have the bawls to ask.

it also annoys me how u have to leave a cc # with them when u make an appt. craaaaapp

dont leave your cc # give them a hard time about it. its absolutely ridiculous that they do that.

Re: please be honest..about your experience

I can understand asking wedding related questions like where are you getting married and how many people to help with dress selection maybe. If you we're getting married at the beach you'd wear a different dress than in a castle. But what your parents do for a living is just unnecessary. How would you even bring that up in conversation?

Geez barb no wonder you are having such terrible luck with finding the dress. The sales people are idiots!

The only place I've had to fill anything out was david's bridal and it was just a name/address/phone number kind of thing...

ive nver had them ask me personal questions like that; however, i only tried on dresses at one place..

but they did write down the name of every single girl in my bridal party....and they randomly call me to 'see how things are going'

I've only been to 3 places to try on dresses and they were very nice. Barb I think you should get out of your area and try some other salons...maybe in Suffolk?

No - no one has every asked me personal questions like that, however - when I went bm dress shopping for my friends wedding, the saleslady ( a snoody lady in her 50s) asked what size I was, and when I told her the size I usually wear, she looked me up and down and said, 'are you sure? Well, we run small here, so lets get you the next size up' - AND - wouldnt you know it, but the next size up was HUGE on me! My friend was so angry with how the woman spoke to me about my size that she didnt want to wait around for me to try on the CORRECT size!!! I dont know where these people get off acting like that - dont they work on commission???????

Re: please be honest..about your experience

Ive been to about 4 stores and only bridal Reflections in Carle Place asked # of guests and location of wedding and i had to leave cc# for appt. i didnt like their service, attitude nor any dress i tried on so i dont have to worry abut them. Plus a bride that was waiting outside with me b4 they opened ( because it was 10: 57 a.m and they open at 11 but much rather have us stand there like idiots) told me her horror story with them getting the dress late and it was 2 days b4 her wedding and it still didnt fit right
