If you found the dress at one store, just call around to see who else can order it. That's what I did. I found my dress at the store that took a good look at my e-ring but then ordered it from Lillette's. I'm sure whatever this store is is not the only one that carries that dress, or at least that designer. Remember, a lot of stores can order a gown as long as they carry the designer, even if they don't have the sample.

the only reason i could think of about asking about your wedding is to get an idea if you're going for something more casual ?? But thats SICK that they asked you that information!!

They should have just asked 'should we even bother talking to you??' ugh people piss me off

I think I know what store you are talking about because they asked me to provide my credit card number too. They casually asked me what I did for a living, but I didn't think anything of it, I thought they were trying to make conversation. hmmm

They didn't ask what my parents did though, although they already know my mom because the store is one of her clients. I think it really depends on what sales person you have. You might just have some bad luck.

Re: please be honest..about your experience

only questions anyone asked me where, location of ceremony & reception. if we where having a big or small wedding & when the wedding is.

although one place did ask me questions about school, graduation & working but that was because the girl remembered me from when i was in my friends wedding the year before.

questions about parents occupations are uncalled for. but now that i am thinking back someone did make a comment to my mom because she knew her fabrics very well. & they asked her what she did for a living. but her mom used to make wedding gowns & thats how come she knew all the information.

Re: please be honest..about your experience

That is crazy - I can see asking # of guests, as someone else said, it could mean the diffeence of having a wedding on the beach or at Oheka, but what your parents do?

I DID, however, have a bm at an RH ask me who was paying for the wedding - me or my parents . .. ***??!! I thought that was rude.
