Please do n ot laugh..flower petal question...

i've wanted to ask this question for the longest time but was alwasy too embarrassed....i want to have flower petals all over my aisle runner (no flower girl)...how do you keep the petals from being dragged under your dress? Do you hot glue them down...or do you use silk petals and sew them onto the aisle runner the day before? I am having an outdoor ceremony and really dont wanta petals flying all over the place...can you buy an aisle runner witht h petals pre-attached?

and do the bridesmaids walk on it as well? becasue if they do then the petals will be all messed up by the time i get there. Do you have the florist sprinkle the petals after they walk down? HELP!!! Anyone have any pictures of what this loks like before/after its walked on?

thank you..sorry for the mania

Everytime I've been to a wedding where there has been flower petals on the runner I never saw a problem with any of the dresses dragging the petals. If you have a windy day that's another problem which I never thought about. If your still worried about the dress dragging the petals you could always line the sides of the runners with the petals instead of them being scattered.

You can glue them. I think they will look fine!

I LOVE the look of the petal on the side of the aisle. I'm basically copying Kimberlybride .

my BM's will have tea length dresses. so the scattering will be minimal. My florist is doing this before our ceremony.

ETA - and don't feel bad about the question. I had that SAME question and worries as you. Just hope it's not a windy day for you!

Good question - I didn't even think about it! Maybe silk flowers sewn on to the runner will be easier?
