Please give me your quotes!!
How much have you spent on your invites?I am going to pull my hair out with my invitations!! I have been trying to settle on a decision since January I think. I have even had many LIW girls help me out but I like nothing!!
I think the price is really getting to me. As it is I am going to go over what I budgeted for my favors.
Right now I am torn between ordering a Michaels kit and changing it up by printing my watermark on it or a gerbera daisy
OR...
Ordering pocketfolds from Cards and Pockets and buying cardstock to cut and fit the invite and inserts into it.
I think the most Michaels would cost me is $160 and that is if I use no coupons. I will use coupons of course so it would be cheaper.
Cards and Pockets pocketfolds will cost me $100 and that is before shipping. Then I still have to but cardstock to buy and cut to fit.
Im running out of time...Im lucky That I have 5 BM's that will help me put them together!!! I dont know what to do!!

Re: Please give me your quotes!!
i only used cards and pockets for all papers. i bought ZOTS and rhinestones from Michael's. not counting Michael's, it cost me $156. and I already had a paper cutter to cut the inserts, but my pics are in my album. it was easy and fun and i saved tons using cardsandpockets. they have a great luxurious product feel. nothing flimsy. GL!!

Re: Please give me your quotes!!
Ok here is my advice and my experience with the Michaels kits...I bought the Brides magazine one and thought I was being smart and saving alot of money. Well I am inviting 200 guests and have 120 invites that I made. I had such a nightmare getting my printer to print them properly (not sure if it was the instructions or just the operator...me) but it took me so long to get everything aligned and then when I did, FH f*cked it up by changing things and now I am back at square one. Also, it requires alot of ink and I have gone through 3 cartridges already and I am not done.
I also wanted to glam the invites up so I bought the Brides magazine rhinestones at $3.99 for 40 without a coupon. I needed 6 packs to do what I wanted to do.
I also needed an extra card to put the accomodations information on so I went to Michaels and bought an extra set of cards which were supposed to be used for something else, not sure what. They didnt exactly match and dont really fit nicely in the pocketfold, so I decided to put it in the back of the pocketfold. Not really happy that they dont sell extra cards for those kits...you would have to buy a whole other kit. The kit came with invite, reception card, and response card.
I also had BMs tell me they would help and everytime I tell them I am doing invites, there is always a BS excuse. I even tried to lure them over with WINE and no luck!! (Free wine people!!) I am fortunate that my mom has helped me alot and that FH attempted to try and help, but honestly dont count on the BM's.
I am a little frustrated with doing them myself and I dont know if its really even worth it yet, but I am mid project and tearing my hair out. Probably all in all I have spent about $300 (invites, rhinestones, ink, extra cards) on the invites and they are the pocketfold ones.

Re: Please give me your quotes!!
I did 100 pocketfolds for $256 and this was with me over ordering paper. You could cut this in half if you did 50.This is what I did:
LCIpaper.com:
50 8 1/2 x 11 pastel blue vellum: = $9.50
100 8 1/2 metallic beargrass paper = $20.00
100 4 7/8 x 6 7/8 Serene blue paper = $21.00
50 12 x 12 Serene blue paper = $14.00
100 RSVP envelopes = $13.90
100 A7 (5 1/4 x 7 1/4) = $24.00
Envelopers.com
100 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 Star Dream Iris Blue Pocketfolds = 139.00
ebay.com
100 yards of 5/8' antique blue ribbon (seller: milestoneoccasion) = $10.75
144 blue 3mm rhinestones = $4.00
Vectorstock.com
2 images for invitation design and decal from user WaD = $2.00
Office Max
50 copies of invitations = $25.00
GRAND TOTAL: $283.15
I actually could have saved more money too because I only used 50 sheets of the metallic paper and I'm not using the vellum. I had to repurchase my outer envelope because it was too snug. I had to reorder 'jumbo envelopes from LCIpaper.com for $20.'
Also, google coupons for LCIpaper.com. I found some that gave me free shipping.
Feel free to FM if you need any help. I have all the the weights of the paper I used and they went through my ink jet printer just fine. I found the only one that I had trouble with was the metallic paper because the ink didn't dry well (I used office max to print on the metallic paper because toner is not wet).

OMG!! I am so sorry!!!! That is horrible and I really feel for you!
Fortunatly for me, one of my BMs is an expert at printing the MIchaels invites. She just did them for her friend that got married in Nov.
Did you use coupons to buy the invites? I am going to try to do that.
The ones I want cost $40. So I am hoping to use a 40% or 50% coupon for each...
Tell how your invites go!

I like the Michaels idea with the watermark or Gerbrea Daisy.
BTW...how do you do that?
My friend has a program on her computer that will print the watermark behind the words for the invite...We also purchased vellum where we will print the gerbera daisy on and cut to fit the invite

Re: Please give me your quotes!!
I got everything - 125 invites, envelopes, response cards, reception cards - for $400 total, including tax and shipping. I addressed everything myself at home on my printer (my dad was really surprised and asked me who I finally got to do the calligraphy). I went to a place in Park Slope called A Lion in the Sun and they were really nice. The turn-around time was quick, and it was very convenient because I didn't have to be home for the invites to come. I'm really happy with how they came out.Hope that helps!

Re: Please give me your quotes!!
well I did my DIY pocketfold invites (i got my paper from anchorpaper.com) and made them myself... I think for 100 invites it came out to 200 BUT i totalyl splurged and bought handmade paper from Nepal as one of the backgrounds of the invite, which brought my budget up... otherwise it would have been around 120-130 for everything.. includes glues, tape, all that extra stuff.. diamonds, ribbon, etc

I scammed the 40% off coupons from my friends and family and went in with three other people and bought them individually...times are tough and I wanted my 40% off!
Thats great you have an expert! Can you send her my way lol!!
