I just found out that Chateu Briand closed down there restaurant, and is no longer affiliated with Watermill, or Westbury Manor. I also heard the food at Fox Hollow now is awful, which leads me to believe the chefs had changed at both Fox Hollow and CB. Has anybody been to either of these halls lately? Does this mean that the delicious food I tasted and was sold on is not going to be there.

They did indeed get a new chef - at Fox Hollow...however, as far as the food being awful - I'll have to disagree with that.
A few brides to be w/their wedding's at FH went to the restaurant recently (within the past month) and said the food's amazing.
Don't go by what you hear...try it for yourself.

I'm having my wedding at the Fox Hollow. I do not think that you should worry. I only know of 1 person who had a not so great experience with the food following the change in chefs at the Fox Hollow. Since then though, there have been girls who were married there and have nothing but a great experience. I honestly wouldn't worry. Scotto Brothers has an excellent reputation. If you are worried though, call them up and be honest with them. Tell them your concerns. Good luck, don't stress, and let us know how things go!

Wow...I think you should call them because who ever you heard this from is all mixed up. That sounds like three different stories all bunched together...
1. Scotto Brothers still owns and operates Chateau Briand. The restaurant is still open. BTW...have you ever ate there? OMG!!! YUM!!! The atmosphere is so AWESOME too! DH & I went to dinner there before we were married and cannot wait to go again!
2. Westbury Manor is the one that is no longer affiliated with CB & FH. It is run by Jerry Scotto, but is no longer considered a Scotto Brothers facility.
3. The chef that WAS at Fox Hollow went to WM with Jerry Scotto.
I haven't heard of any chef changes at CB. Call them. They're so helpful.
Any time you hear crazy stories like you've heard...contact the hall directly. TRUST ME! When WM changed...it got CRAZY! Every story you heard sounded WORST than the next. Then DH & I contacted Jerry and it turned out all was good...all was BETTER actually.

I was just at the Chateau Briand 2 weeks ago... and the food was excellent!!!
I did hear that they closed the resturant to accomdate smaller weddings... I was actaully there with my dance school for a Holiday Party.
See if you can go for another food tasting...
but we had delicious appt and main meals... the desert was so good too!!
I don't think you need to worry!

A good friend of mine is a BM at Chateau Briand. So if there were major changes, he would have told me.
What I do know is as stated before, they now are using the Europa as part of the catering facility (another room if you will) as opposed to just a restaurant.
They are still a Scotto Brothers property. Westbury Manor is the one that is branched off.
The food has not changed at all. However I do know they are refurbishing the chairs, if that helps!!!

In terms of reputation, Scotto brothers is great!
If you have concerns, bring it up with your hall. They may even add in some things to entice you to stay!
