go to the avatars thread I posted today
click the link and save a pic to your desktop
(or if you have a pic use that one) I would resize the pic before you put it up incase its too big.
once you have the pic on your desktop
go to your profile and scroll down to chat avatar and browse to the file you want
its as easy as that

It's a pic I already have- and I did resize & crop- still says it's not an acceptable format even though it's a jpeg.
