Please help a new bride-to-be!!

Hi everyone!

I recently became engaged, and I'm trying to contact RH's for some preliminary pricing over the phone. Everywhere seems to expensive!!

I'm hoping for a November 2009 wedding. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm TRYING to stay under $100/head including tax and gratuity, which works out to be about $80/head and under (before tax and grat).

I'd like to stay in Nassau or West Suffolk.

Thanks!!

You can try Chateau la Mer. I went to a wedding there and it was beautiful. I think their prices are very reasonable too.

I deffinitely think you can find places that are about that price.

I have heard alot of brides on here talking about Fox Hollow, and how they throw in alot of extras for you and work with your budget. I would check them out, or Crest Hollow.

I didn't go to any other RH other than the one I picked b/c we know the guy that works there, so I can't help any further. :) Good Luck.

Congratulations!!!
For your price range, I would recommend the Fox Hollow, Douglaston Manor...there are others but these are two that I visited and can vouche for their pricing. For any dates in 2009, I'm sure Fox Hollow has fantastic rates- they had already reduced their 2009 rates when we booked in September. We decided to go with a with a Friday night to reduce costs, that will help. Visit websites to get a feel and set up appointments. Use the search function and read what Brides have written about he halls you are interested in.

You want to get an idea for number of guests so you can negotiate your minimum (the minimum amount of guests you will guarantee or you will have to pay for at least that amount). Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Nov is now considered prime time for weddings. So Fox Hollow maybe to pricey at that point. But call anyway. But here are some others to checkout...

The Riviera

Chateu La Mer

Crest Hollow

Manor East

Stewart Manor Country Club.

Good Luck

Try the Thatched Cottage. We're getting married in November '09 and are paying just over $100 per person with tax and tip for a Saturday night wedding.

Congratulations!! You should try Larkfield Manor...we're getting a pretty good deal there for a Friday night in June. Marianne, Harry and George are wonderful!! It's a beautiful place, the food is FANTASTIC, and you get a lot for the money!! The other good thing is that if you have a larger crowd, they can really only do 1 wedding per night. THey do have 2 rooms for events, but they are only doing 1 wedding the night of ours because we have a little over 200 people coming. Anyway, give it a try! Good Luck!!

I looked at CLM and I believe they quoted us for $79/head. Also, if you are not having a lot of people, I would try the Metropolitan. I think they max out at 130. They were around 80/head, too.

But this is probably because you booked the Fox Hollow over a year in advance. I've written this on other threads but when we went in to visit the Fox Hollow this past September we were given the following rates for 2009 weddings (all remaining Fridays) March- 65pp June- 70pp September- 75pp. We were very tempted to go for the March date....I want to say it was closer to 55 but don't have the paperwork in from of me. We were told that once it's within 12 months from the wedding date, pricing gets cut.

If you are looking for November of next year you will get a good deal- provided they have dates available. it's out there and if you plan for 2009- you'll get a great deal.

I would definitely try most of the above places.

Also, the Swan Club is beautiful and definitely reasonable

Try Chateau Briand-- that was our second choice and their prices are very reasonable.

Sans Souci is also very reasonable as well and unique/on the water!

Re: Please help a new bride-to-be!!

You should check out the Sans Souci in Sea Cliff, Beautiful place within your price range. They only have one wedding at a time, more of a boutique type of place on the water. The food is outstanding.

Good Luck

You should check out The Old Field Club. It's a little more than that per head, but definitely worth it!
