Please help - ceremony musician prices

My FH is in charge of the ceremony/cocktail hour musicians. He was quoted $800 for 2 musicians for 1.5 hours. That seems expensive to me. That is equivilent to $266 an hour - I wish I made that much an hour myself! What were the averages other girls found.

I'm still trying to figure that out. We're all over the place with this. Now my mom wants the harpist (550 bucks). My church hooked me up with a girl who will charge 450 for herself and two other members of her family (2 violins and a cello). Then I have a quote of 500 for Counterpoint for the same trio (they're a vendor on here). Then I have a cd next to my bed of wedding music that would be a whole lot cheaper than any of them! lol. I do think 800+ is too much for 1 1/2 hrs. I was quoted that, too... but I think that price is insane. Plus, some of these places charge if they need to arrange music they don't have.

I went on gigmasters.com and found the harpist I will likely book. She is charging me $300 (plus gigmasters gets 5% booking fee, $20 minimum) for 2 hours of music, pre and during ceremony. She's supposed to send me her demo cd for the classical music and got the sheet music and is learning to play the song I want the BP to walk down the aisle to. When she learns it, she'll record it and send it to me or I can hear it in person. Did I mention I haven't even booked her yet. She is fabulous and if I love the way it sounds I'm defintely booking her. I also found an ad on craigslist for a string quartet, the quoted me $800 for 2 hours of music, so $200 per musician.
