Ugh, I'm wondering if I should move my ceremony up.
Right now it is scheduled at 4:30. It is not a full mass and the priest estimated it would take about 20 minutes. Figure a receiving line and a few pics at the church.
The reception is about 10 minutes away and scheduled to start at 6:30. We are taking the rest of the pics there. We wanted to make some of our CH which is an hour and a half.
Is this way too short of a gap? I don't want to be rushed. I'm thinking I should move it up to 4, but it's a friday, so ppl might have trouble coming that early (although most people are OOT anyway) and I'll have to switch around the limo times and stuff.....
Help...

Re: Please help... ceremony time?
I think you have enough time. I wouldn't go much earlier on a Friday. The earlier you go the less people will probably make it to the church.

Re: Please help... ceremony time?
thanks guys.. I feel better... I saw so many people with like 3 hours in between, granted they have longer to travel, but I figured weddings always start late..
our priest did stress being on time so I guess I will just have to make SURE we start on time!

I think you'll have plenty of time. I wouldn't change the time at all.

Re: Please help... ceremony time?
FH and I are having a 2 1/2 hour gap between the church and the reception because our pictures are very important to us and we want a large variety to choose from. I think you should allow extra time for photos!

I have the same problem. FH and I dont want to see each other before our ceremony, but only have like an hour and 1/2 in between and plan on taking pictures at our RH, but we dont want to miss our CH. We cant move our time and it is what it is. Hopefully we wont miss too much of our CH because with all the money we are paying- we want to enjoy it all

Re: Please help... ceremony time?
My Church is 330 and my Cocktail hour starts at 630. I wasn't planning on going to CH because I know I am going to want to fix myself up and take some time to relax before the 'big event'. I added in the Viennese hour tho to give us extra time at the end. What about doing that? Now my wedding is one hour cocktail and 5 hour reception.

Re: Please help... ceremony time?
I only have 3 hours in between because the church gave me no choice. I have the latest Sat ceremony. But I think if you are close you could do all your pics in an hour and still make most, if not all, of the cocktail hour.
Especially since your cocktail hour is an hour and half, you should be fine.
