Please help, how much weight can I lose?

Please help, how much weight can I lose?

So I am in need of losing weight before the big day, 100 days from today to be exact.

I have attached a pic of the back of the dress. It is a corset and it is a little snug and there is still about 4 or 5 inches at the top that could be tightened up on the corset.

Do you think that means I could lose about 4 inch and still be OK?

Please help!

(I won't get to try the dress on again till the week before the wedding!)

If you eat right and excersize moderately, you can lose 2 lbs a week, which is very healthy. But if you keep you caloric intake to about 1400, do a ton of cardio and mix in a bit of weights you could lose 4lbs a week. They say every 10 lbs is an inch, so as of right now you would need to lose 40 lbs to close the dress 4' . Also, I would give your seamstress no less than a month to do alterations. Especially if you plan to lose weight. Good Luck

Well...you may not think you can lose much, but you can!! 3 months ago I was 25 pounds heavier! You can do it!! I feel so much better than I did. I am doing Jenny Craig, and working out consistently...first time I have ever worked this hard to lose weight! Also...I have lost multiple inches...more so than you would ever think!

P.S....you look beautiful in your dress without losing any weight....and you will be a beautiful bride!!

Good luck!

Thanks ladies! I know I can do it I am just worried about loosing too much.

I ordered the dress two sizes small than what they recomended and when it came in 6 months later (I had only lost about 5 lbs) it fit like it does in the pic. I was expecting it to be smaller so I could loose more weight, now I haven't even started b/c it 'fits' now, I would hate to loose the weight and then the dress not fit.

I am getting married in St. Louis (that's where the dress is) and I live up here, so I don't really have the opportunity to go to a seamstress. That's why I got the corset.

I think I will be alright to lose about 30 lbs at the most.

Thanks, I hope I can do it too. FH and I have both been trying to loose weight since we got engaged 2 years ago and we cannot get motivated! It really ***** too. I told myself I wasn't going to do this, let it get down to the wire and then freak out cause I didn't lose any weight, but here we are, 14 weeks to go. GET MY A$$ IN GEAR! I know he loves me for who I am, but I really don't want to say the heaviest I've been was in my wedding photos, those are something I will look at forever and just wish I would have stopped farting around. know what I mean?

Re: Please help, how much weight can I lose?

I lost 15 pounds in the last month and a half. The diet probably isn't the healtiest but it's working and with my wedding less than 4 months away, I'm willing to do it, but I am taking prenatal vitamins (I'm not preggo... I'm trying to get pregnant on my honeymoon so my doc told me to start taking them now). So I figure it can't be too bad. For breakfast I have 3 scrambled eggs with turkey cold cuts in it and milk to drink. For lunch I have cold cut and cheese rolled up with a little bit of mayo with milk or water. For dinner I have lettuce wraps (same as lunch just with lettuce, or I'll have tuna on lettuce or a grilled turkey burger with cheese with milk or water... I think you get the drift. I think it's like Atkins, but I'm too cheap to buy the book!!! I bet you'll get to where you need to be for your wedding!!!

You look beautiful it that dress and you can lose weight if you put your mind to it & stay focused ~ I know it is hard ~ my weight always is up and down... but the thought of me being in my wedding dress was looking like a big marshmallow and I don't want to look like that ~ Although like Ryan (Diva7531) I thought I was going to start losing weight the first week I was engaged...NOTTTTT! but I did get motivated in the last couple of months and more so because I want to FEEL great on my wedding day and look good too but my main goal is I just want to feel energetic and happy! and I know if I feel fat and bloatted I will feel miserable! my mood can fluctuate on how FAT I feel I know sad but it is true! so I started to do 3-5 days of cardio I started with a 1/2 hour then worked up to 50 min ~ I don't do that all the time but I sure try! (actually I got the CD's from WW I joined in the spring & quit the time did not allow it to go to the meetings etc) I do the walking CD for 30 min and then there is another CD from WW that has cardio fat burner, cardio dance, toning... etc and these are 20 mins each ~ toning is 10 min ~ makes it fun and breaks up the routine! then for food I try to eat my carb in the morning if I have one... usually I have a yogurt ~ I have been having a plain donut (I leave it in the paper bag for about an hour or to soak up the oil) if i am hungry before lunch i will have fruit, I have been having the Mcdonalds salads for lunch or just a salad with grilled chicken ~ dinner something light ~ more on the meat, veg, carb (FH is a meat and pasta kind of guy) and NEVER eat past 8 pm... if I have to eat that late for whatever reason I will have a serving of Special K or something ~ FM if you want to chat! Good LUCK & Stay focused babe! YOU can DO it! if you put your mind to it! PS whenever I want to CHEAT I usually think of myself in a blow up version of myself in my wedding dress (like someone took an airpump and pumped me with air) and it seems to be working or if I decide to cheap I will take a bite and usually I will think to myself is it really worth it! usually if it is a chocolate chip cookie or brownie it is worth it!

Ok, all of the advice above is great, but I think the question she's asking is how much weight should she lose. Right now, that fit is gorgeous! I haven't put mine on yet, and I'll be so happy if it fits like your pics.
I'm about your size, and I have the same concern. Once it's altered, how much can I get away with? I still want people to see the corset.

You're going to hate this answer, but if I were you, I wouldn't lose more than 10 lbs. The corset isn't like a shoelace - pulling tighter on the top affects the rest of the dress (the sides come up a little more, the bottom of the corset closes a little more, etc).

Given that you can't try the dress on until a week before the wedding, It would suck to have lost all that weight just to find out that your dress won't stay up, or looks like a$$ because it's all bunched up in the back. Granted, it all depends on where you lose weight first, but I wouldn't chance it.
