Hi girls. I am so sad. I got my area rug for our bedroom and my family is saying it looks stupid because so much of it is hidden under the bed. Iy only comes out about a foot on both sides of the bed. So now I am thinking of bringing it back and getting two runners, one for one side of the bed and the other for the foot of the bed. The other side of the bed is really close to furniture so it doesn't make any sense and the head of the bed is up against a wall. Do people do that. We have a small bedroom and with the furniture there is not a lot of hard wood floor showing to begin with, so I don't want to completely cover the hard wood floors. But I think an area rug gives the room a little class. What do you girls think I should do... My sister thinks I should just return the rug and forget the area rug altogether. Opinions, please. I know its hard because you can't see the room. Maybe I can take some pics tomorrow.

what if you put the rug under the front legs of the bed...so half of it is under the bed and the other half is exposed. I have seent that done on different decorating shows and it really looks nice!!
Dont be sad...decorating is a hard thing! You should decorate how you like things...not what others tell you.

Thanks. That is how I had it originally. I had it starting around the middle of the bed, and going to the end and coming exposed about a foot at the bottom of the bed and then a foot on each side. However, then we brought it up more under the bed so it is perfectly centered under the bed, but now it doesn't come out from the foot of the bed. My family says that way looks a little more neater. I wish I could see how other people do it. Do you know of any decorating websites I can look at to get ideas? Thanks for responding.

It is really hard to give an opinion w/o a picture. But I had to respond to say that if you like it - keep it! You are the one living with it - not your family. I think it is great that you have your family to ask their opinion - but that doesn't mean you have to agree! Good Luck!

I know, but that is my problem, I can't decide some things on my own. I keep questioning myself does it look ok, etc. I think I am driving DH crazy! :) I try to take pics tonight and post them tomorrow. Maybe you girls can give me some ideas. Thanks!
