I dont know why this is such a difficult decision for me! I cant decide between cathedral length or fingertip. I love the look of a cathedral veil, but i'm getting married at the RH so is that weird? And I like the idea of a fingertip veil cuz then i can keep it on for entrance and first dance. And I just cant decide which i think would look better with my dress.
What do you guys think?? My dress is in my album

Re: Please help me decide on a veil length
fingertip
eta: because your dress is so beautiful - i think the focus should be solely on your dress. i think a cathedral length may distract from your dress and its detail

Re: Please help me decide on a veil length
what about both lol, thats what i did and so did other ladies. I had a cathedral veil and elbow length veil that were both on a comb and was detachable. I took off the cathedral veil after the pics and at reception just had on the elbow length.
Honestly, i wasnt able to decide either until i tried it on in person. Once i saw it on me it was alot easier to decide so i say start looking around and try some on

Belissa - I have a similar style dress and can't decide either. Right now I'm leaning towards a fingertip length since it'll be a nice balance to the fullness of the lower half of my dress. But again, until I try it on when my dress comes in, who knows

I think either one would look great with your dress but I'm a fan of the fingertip veil. I think it's easier to move around in, you can keep it on the entire night, the bottom of it won't get dirty, and your dress is gorgeous enough to stand on it's own without a cathedral veil.

I'm also a fan of fingertip, but try them both on and see which one looks better with the dress, or like it was mentioned above, maybe you can have both!

Fingertip. It's the most versatile. Plus, it won't compete with your dress.

thanks for all the feedback! I think i have been leaning towards the fingertip for all those reasons. Now i just have to decide on blusher or no blusher

Re: Please help me decide on a veil length
I say fingertip and blusher! I had a 2-tier finger tip, and having the blusher really made me feel so much more 'like a bride'.... just trying on the dresses, whenever I put on a veil with a blusher I got so much more excited. It is so easy to just lift the blusher to the back, and it made the veil a little fuller. Mine was really simple so as not to compete with the dress.

did you use the 2nd tier finger tip as the blusher? i want to do this but thought finger tip might be too long for the front...

I think a fingertip would look better with your style of dress.

hey you!! i think this is exactly what i'm gonna do. i had my first fitting today and tried a veil on like that and loved it. What color veil are you getting?? what color is 'natural'??? the one i tried on was ivory and it looked good but i kinda want to see what diamond white might look like?

When I went to Barrons they have a color called 'natural' so maybe it will match our dress. Not sure though I just recently got a swatch of my dress so I'll try to go off of that. Where did you try on the veil? I got my dress from RK, is that where you got yours?

I'd definitely do a fingertip with a blusher. The detail on the dress is so gorgeous you don't want to take away from that.

Re: Please help me decide on a veil length
If you want to wear it all night I would go with a fingertip length. That's what I had and it was comfortable for the ceremony and reception.

i agree with denise. definetly try on samples w/ur dress before u decide. I also had my cathedral made into two pieces..so the long piece came out after the ceremony, and i kept the shorter on for the reception.
also, jmo: of COURSE try it on, but i think with ur dress that u may be better off going with fingertip(and this is coming from a cathedral length girl ) i just think it may compliment it more..but try it on! post pics if u can

oh they did? that might be perfect, i'll have to go back. thing is i already have an ivory veil so i kind of wanted to try to make that work, but i also really want it to match. when i bunched the material together from the veil it was def too ivory, but spread out it was fine.
I got my dress at RK too - where did you get a swatch from??
