thank you! ive been searching images on google... I just got the idea to look up her name with the person who took the pics and got a good cover shot, but it's very small. I did just read that info you mentioned. I def dont want a long train and i read she had 300 feet of material????!! def dont want and cant have that. if only i could find close up pics of the detail/designs on the dress.
any designers that you know of that make these style dresses? especially those that DONT cost as much as a car! I want to know what they go for in the store this way I know if I'm better off with a custom made. I honestly just started looking for a dress kinda late, I know

What about this one? Look at my dress in my album,, you may like that one too.. Its a mermaid, but its very full on the bottom like that, but not overly so.
If you want to buy from a high end designer forget it! it takes minimum 4 months then you need another month for alterations. Mine is taking 7 months, they blamed it on the fact they say its coming from England.
I'd find a wedding dress maker ASAP and start talking!
I think it may be worthwhile to do an interpretation of the dress as it looks too have many many pleats, pleats are a nightmare to sew, so maybe your dress maker can interpret them with fabric or something.
I know of a wedding dress maker in Brooklyn, FM me if you need to know. She makes her living copying designers. I will probably use her for alterations.
Edit: I probably would have used her if I didn't fall head over heals for my dress. And I thought the layers upon layers of fine silk and very sophisticated beading would have cost me the same if she were to do it, and I'd be a nervous wreck wondering if it came out right. So with plenty of time to spare I opted for designer. 2 more months for my dress

Ladies, thank you so much! I'm starting to get worried. I have 6 thousand set aside for my dress and if worst comes to worse it can maybe be 7. I WANT TO SPEND MUCH LESS and thought custom would allow for me to do that....
I said to my sister 'this is the dress.' SHE STARTED LAUGHING!!! Is it really that unrealistic to get a replica of this dress for under 5 thousand?? I mean, with my e party dress, I was all over the tri state area in fabric shops and saw the prices of fabric, lets say if the fabric ended up costing me 1,000, is it going to cost 4,000 to sew?? yswedding, thank you! I will be sending you an fm

It also depends on the type of sewing you want, if you want all of those pleats and intricate work, then its just time, and time can eventually cost 4,000 perhaps. I would definitely get a picture of something close to it and give it to her asap. I don't know what else you could do other than buy your own dress.

Be careful with fabric, if you do that dress in the wrong fabric it will look awful. But I think if you do something different about those pleated flowers, and go lighter on the crystals its definite doable.
I don't know is this is your taste, but I saw this vera wang gown that I think is the essence of your dress, simplified.
Whats more I know my dressmaker can do it for 1200 in silk satin! I asked for something really similar initially. (minus the bow)
