Please help me narrow down the Halls~

Please help me narrow down the Halls~

OK, so we want to have a summer 06 wedding & as you girls know, places book up pretty quickly. We already checked out Majestic Gardens, Jericho Terrace, Roslyn Claremont Hotel, & Windows on the Lake (which, I do not think looks as pretty in person, but that's jmo). I would have LOVED to be a FLowerfield bride, but it's out of our price range. I think we're going to look at a few more probably:
--Carlyle on the Green
--East Wind Estate
--The Metropolitan

Are there any girls who have either been to, or had their wedding at any of these places?' So far, my FH & I love Jericho Terrace the most. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Went to a wedding at the Metropolitan and really liked it. The food was reallyyyyyy good, the band is on a raised platform behind the bar so that was cool, there was only one wedding and the hall is just pretty. It's actually two levels if you want to put guests upstairs and they will be looking over the dancefloor.

Look at East Wind. They have excellent food and they made me and my FH feel like we were coming home. The price was excellent. I went to MG, and I also liked that the food I heard was good as well.

I haven't been to any weddings at the places you mentioned, but I am biased in saying Jericho Terrace!! We checked at least 10 other halls (including Chateau Briand which we almost booked) and just fell in love with Jericho Terrace.

FYI, I think Carlyle on the Green is more expensive than Flowerfield.

My fav out of all of them is Carlyle although it's big $$. One wedding at a time I think.

East Wind could be a good alternative though.

I booked the estate so i am partial but i personally think it is amazing, i have heard nothing but great things about their service and their food- however, i would ask if the date is available only because i was looking at dates in july and there were not too many left for the estate and i booked last jan. anything could have happened and i may be wrong completely, but you may want to check since it is a drive out east(although i dont know where you are coming from)good luck

Same here - Carlyle quoted me almost 200 pp, Flowerfield was about 170 pp (for a Saturday night in October).

To be honest, the Carlyle was pretty, but I thought it was looking a little worn around the edges... beautiful though!

Thanks everyone!! You were all right about Carlysle. So, I think it's down to JT, the Metropolitan or East Wind. But I think East Wind is like 40 minutes from me. I'd be coming from the Smithtown area.

You live right near me (Kings Park) and my FH works right over by JT. That's about 45 minutes too!

I looked at a BILLION (ok, 14) halls...I was not a fan of East Wind because of the wallpaper/carpets. Have you considered looking at the Watermill? After searching 14 halls (mostly in Suffolk- only a couple in Nassau), we booked Fox Hollow. Best balance of what we were looking for, and it's only 20 minutes away.

Good Luck! Feel free to FM if you have any q's about all the halls I went to!

im coming from smithtown too- st pats is my church- it isnt that bad and from smithtown going west towards nassau could take you about that long too- depending on the time of day i have made it to east wind from smithtown in 30 minutes... average time is like 40 minutes

I really loved East Wind. It was too far for us and our guests. I had my heart set on it but when most of the guests are coming from New Jersey it's a lot to ask. Good luck.

That is soooooo funny BKLI... we almost booked Chateau Briand too but JT had the look that I the wanted.

I say JT is the way to go.....

I have to say that my fi and I drove ourselves nuts driving down to look at hall after hall after hall , it seemed endless, when all the while we were in denial with ourselves JT was exactly what we wanted and was the first place we saw, it seems like you are in the same situation, in the end I am sure you will make the choice that's right for you it will all come together
