PLEASE HELP! My MOH's tailor butchered her dress . . .
My MOH/sister is wearing a bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal - Style No. F1286 in blue velvet. Did anyone ever wear this dress and still have the shawl??
The tailor she took it to was supposed to hem it, but he took FOUR INCHES off the bottom too much. My wedding is THIS saturday. The dress is strapless, but comes with a two-toned shawl. We could fix it if we sewed the shawl material over the screwed up part, but David's won't sell us a shawl without selling us a whole dress, which is too much money. The dress is dark blue, but it has light blue material peeking out of the top and bottom in a slit. (If you've worn it, you'll know it). If you have this BM dress hanging in your closet gathering dust, I would greatly appreciate it if you would sell me the shawl. Please help if you can!! Thank you so much (even if all you could do is read our plight.)

That's AWFUL!!!! it's their fault right? they hemmed it too much, they should be liable. Ask to speak to the manager, go right to the top if you have to!! I would!

How heartbreaking. I wish I could help you but I havent been a bridesmaid in almost 15 years. I hope you are able to resolve your problem.

That's horrible, I would not pay them! Did the tailor have any suggestions? If you can't get a shawl or fix it, what about getting her something different. If she is the MOH it wouldn't look weird if she had something else.
I know, this is the last thing you need right now!

The tailor didn't keep the fabric that they cut off? UGGH.

That is unacceptable!!!! If they made the mistake they should fix it! Maybe you could go to a fabric store and find material that matches or trim for the bottom of the dress and have a tailor add it on???

Since she is the MOH maybe it owuldn't look that awful if the fabric was slightly different Like if you did a light blue trim and got her a light blue shawl? I don't know what else there is to do!!

And he didn't charge her. But Boy Would I like to sue him right now for something!

That's a good idea. Maybe you could go to Macy's or Bloomingdales. They always have a section that has shawls. I know it won't match, but maybe you could find something that will look nice with it, and she will stand out? Ugh, I feel terrible...all I have is a black satin shawl, or else I'd send it to you!

they should pay for a brand new dress from Davids Bridal....they messed it up so they should have to pay seriously call and tell them that they have to o0r you are calling a lawyer
