I can understand that it may be too late to ask him to play an active role in the wedding-sounds like your wedding day is close. But the rehearsal site...how is it so jam packed? It can't accommodate another 2 people? I'm probably not picturing it right but 2 extra seats for the sake of making him feel like he's included seems worth jamming it more. As for how the bride's uncle fits into the scheme - the fact that he is a special person in your life should be reason enough. Either way, definitely mention to him how important he is in your life and don't forget to have a dance with him on the wedding day. even though you will be pulled in 10 different directions, if you approach him for a dance, that would be extra special. Good luck. Most people tend to realize that we have 1000 things on our minds around the wedding day. He may be less offended than you think.

Please help-Need Ideas
Now you're totally getting into sticky family area. How can you disinvite the disliked uncle...even if you can't stand him, I think (just my opinion) it would be in poor taste ask that he not come now. When you say the 'other 5 kids' are they children or adults? I know a lot of families refer to siblings as the 'other kids'. Hmmmmnnn, this is a tough situation. I would love to ask you more to possibly help. You can email me at [email protected] if you want to discuss it more privately. But don't forget, just do the best you can :o)
Our rehearsal site only holds 30 peoole and we already at 32 bc my fiance's family INSISTED the other 5 kids go at the last minute....long story but the idea is it's packed.

Need Ideas - Say grace or prayer at dinner
Have him say grace or a prayer before dinner at the reception...that way, he doesn't need to come to the rehearsal, etc. Be sure to ask him in advance to let him get his thoughts together. That's what my FI's godfather is doing for us...our way to include him on the day.
