Please help-personal question

Please help-personal question

I am freaking out because I got my 'little friend' today- my schedule SUDDENLY changes and I am SO afraid that I will have it the day of my wedding! I have no insurance and am not on the pill because of that so I don't know how I can manipulate my cycle. What do I do? I get really sick- excrutiating back pain, fever, cramps, and a cranky attitude especially on the first day (like today). It will basically ruin my wedding day. Also, if it stays on this cycle, I will have it for the honeymoon in June as well. This is a serious problem! Is there anything I can do?

Do you mean to get BC? Is it too late to go on it and change my cycle? I feel like I am too old to go there. I have never been there and would not know what to say! Maybe I am misinformed.

I dont think you can change your cycle without the pill. You could go to Planned parenthood and tell them you have no insurance and that you want to be put on the pill. Age has nothing to do with the pill and it is never too late to go on it. HTH

You arent too old!!! Im 27 and just started on the pill 4-5 months ago. Helped my menstrual cycle incredibly. Just go and explain your situation, they will help you out. Dont worry.

I don't think you'll have enough time to go on bc if you're getting married in 28 days. I went on BC for a month and I was spotting in btween...i didn't like the idea of that so i stopped taking it. everyone is different though

go to planned parenthood. they have a program for women without health insurance. you can apply. and also get a well visit check up and a pap.

Don't freak out I was early the month before my wedding which is strange b/c i was so stressed out. Then I didn't get mine until after the honeymoon. I went 37 days with a period. I don't take any BC.

IMO i wouldn't start taking the pill just for this reason. If I were you, I would take a deep breath, and relax!! Because your stressed out is why this happened. Besides wedding stuff (which is stressful enough) did anything happen the first 2 weeks or so after your last period completed? it could be anything: crazy dream that stressed you out, job crap, etc.
Starting to take the pill just to fix this, is not a great idea. Why would you want to put extra hormones into your body that you really don't need unless you're using it for contraception? then if you want to come off of it, it can sometimes take months for your period to get back to normal. I wouldn't do it, but like I said, that's just my opinion.

28 days isnt enough time to change your cycle, but BC can also be used for other reasons like to lessen the bleeding, cramps, pain, and moodiness. I have HORRIBLE periods like you described, and I take BC just to make me functional.

You need at least 3 months from when you start BC inorder to start playing with the dates.
Maybe it came early because of stress.

Thanks for all of the advice. Just to clarify, I was on BC and would still be on it if I never lost my health insurance. I was on it for all the normal reasons. Unfortunately, it looks like now would not be a good time to go back on it because I may screw things up more. All I can do is hope for the best, I guess. Usually, stress makes it late for me so I was surprised that it came early. Thanks, anyway ladies.
