PLEASE HELP SAVE PRE-K

URGENT:

The Emergency Coalition to save UNIVERSAL PREKINDERGARTEN is organizing a VIRTUAL LOBBY DAY on TUESDAY, APRIL 8 as part of the WEEK of the Young Child.

We are asking that all concerned NEW YORKERS call the GOVERNOR and tell him that it is not acceptable for him to eliminate early education programs for our children.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:

STEPS

1. Dial 1-518-474-8390

2. When the reception answers, simply say:
'My name is ..............
I am calling to tell the governor to fully fund UPK and SMALLER Classes in the early grades'

3. The receptionist will ask for your ZIPCODE.

The governor is trying to elimate all state paid for Preschool programs. He doesn't realize what a help and necessity they are - to help kids get a head start that they wouldn't normally get if parents can't afford preschool. I work in a special ed. preschool and they are always cutting money for us. They don't realize if you try to fix the problems early on, you may not have to deal with them later on. Makes me so mad!
