Please .... I need commuter help!

I have an interview today on Broadway between Prince & Spring.....what is the best way to drive there????? I was thinking the Williamsburg bridge or the Manhattan bridge, but I don't know which parkways to take to get to those bridges, and I do no tknow which roads to get off on.

Please help, I am such a LI girl sometimes

I would NOT drive there. Manhattan is a total mess this week.

You have San Genaro which is right around that area on Canal. Also President Bush is in town for the UN meetings. Senator Kerry is also in town campaigning.

Driving in today is asking to major issues. Just take mass transit.

I think the Williamsburg is free, which is good, but I usually take the Midtown Tunnel to get downtown. Here's how I'd go: Take the LIE to the Midtown, get into the downtown lane, turn down Fifth Avenue, bear left at the Flatiron Building to stay on Broadway.

I normally do not drive into manhattan for interviews, but it is a design job & I have to bring a very large portfolio (32' x 18') with delicate presentation boards in them & I am afraid it will get trounced in the LIRR & penn station.

I was afraid that the tunnel was too far, but it sounds pretty direct

It's not bad at all. I used to drive to class when I missed my train--which happened A LOT!!

I always used to sleep through my first class also, too bad there were no short cuts to St. John's

If you are insistent on driving... avoid the Midtown Tunnel. There are mad checkpoints there for the UN.

Take the BQE to the Williamsburg Bridge.

Thanks. My interview is at 5:30pm, so it may not be too bad getting in...getting out will probably be a nightmare, but what are you gonna do?

You will be coming in against rush hour. This can be just as bad if not worse than actual rush hour because there will be minimal lanes available coming over the bridges and tunnels.

Allow plenty of time.

I will be leaving at 3:45 I am sure I will have paperwork to fill out once I get to the interview anyway, so if I am early I will be ahead of the game.
