Please inspect your registry items!

Please inspect your registry items!

I thought I would just share with everyone, if you receive any registry item that you plan to STORE, take the time to open each box and inspect it!

Last night, FH and I went to pick up our china at Fortunoff and I started going through the boxes and a full box that had my china's label on the outside had four sets of a different place setting on the inside! It was obviously a slip up on the manufacturer's part, but I now have to go to Fortunoff and explain what happened and get my four place settings. If I would have just put it up in the attic of my parent's house and came back to get it once we bought a house, I would have mismatched china!

Definitely take the time to check and make sure that it's correct and there are no damages.

Thanks for the tip. I think a lot of people dont open it because it is soooooooooo hard to get things back in the box and packaged right.

If you are very careful, take your time and WATCH how things come out of the box, it is fairly easy to get it back in. Trust me, 15 years working retail and being forced to repackage returned merchandise I have become rather adept, and those things are KEY to getting it right.

I bought a 12 piece china place setting at Fortune off for my best friend's wedding last year and I inspected ALL the boxes before giving it to her.

2 plates were broken. I returned them without a problem. I am so glad I checked before I gave her my present.

It could happen with any brand, but if you plan on not using it for a while and storing it, I would just check it, in case something is wrong or for any damages.

You should also check to make sure nothing is broken. I found a soup bowl and accent plate were broken so Fortunoff is going ot replace them.

Just an update - I brought back my dishes last night, they didn't have four more of my place setting in stock, so they ordered them and are shipping them to me free of charge.
