My grandfather went into the hospital last week with a really bad ache in his tummy. It turns out he has stones in his gall bladder. They were originally going to wait 4-6 weeks to operate b/c they wanted the swelling to go down. But then yesterday they decided to operate today b/c the antibiotics have not helped and he's still in pain (even with the morphine or percasit (sp?) they've been giving him. Usually this is not a complicated procedure but since my grandfather has had many major sugeries it is a complicated and somewhat risky procedure for him. I am just so nervous and sad.

So please girls and guys keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks everyone

Hey everybody, This is Marcela's fiance Peter. She asked me to post an update for her. I hope this works.. Her grandfather had a stroke about 10 minutes ago and his left side seems to be paralyzed. PLease pray for his healthy and full recovery. Shes on her way to the hospital and asked me to ask you guys for your prayers. Thank you. Peter

my mom had gall stones taken out years ago
and it was not a major thing but I understand you said b/c of his past surgeries it could be,
I am sure he will be fine

Thank you so much for keeping my abuelo (grandfather in Spanish) in your thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad to be part of such a wonderful community

My grandfather came out of the operating room around 7pm and the doc said everything went well. They removed his gall bladder. However, there are still some stones in the duct that travels to the intestines. Since the area is still very swollen they felt it was too risky to take out those stones now, so they'll operate again in a few weeks. Which sucks but at least he won't be in pain anymore since the doc said it was the stones in the gall bladder that were causing him the pain. So that's great news. They're keeping him in the recovery room tonight to keep an eye on him.
