PLEASE let me know your experiences with

The Wedding Center in Commack in regards to bridesmaid dresses. I believe they are more affordable than most other places. Some of my BM's are young and they can't afford expensive dresses so this is why I figured I would take them there. I heard they are not good with their alteration dept., but it's ok b/c they are OOT bridemaids and they will be taking them to their own places for alternations.

Do they carry most maufacturers? Did any of your bridesmaids purchase their dresses from this place? Please let me know.. I was thinking of making an appt. with them, but if it's not a good idea I won't bother. Thank you!

I didn't use this place, but my bridesmaid who went there said the service was horrible.

I shopped there for BM dresses and got pretty much NO customer service whatsoever. I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but a lil assistance would've been nice.

There's Helen's Bridal also in Commack where I ordered my BM dresses instead and so far everything's been smooth sailing. FM me if you have any questions or want their info!

We ordered BM dresses from Phyllis at gownfind.com -- approx. 25% less than I could find them anywhere else. If you could decide on a dress that is reasonably priced and order at a discount, that could work?

Her prices for my BM dress were $50 cheaper than anywhere I found them (in some cases $100 cheaper) and the alterations are capped at $45.

She's located on LI and has a lot of positive reviews on here.

My suggestion, buy the dresses and have them altered locally....you just dont get the attention you need at a bridal place. They have way too many things going on, and in my experience it works out to be a nightmare.

Yeah that is what I meant when I recommended Wedding Center. They are like going to an outlet store. You don't get white glove service but you order the dress and you get the dress. You already know what you want and you already know they aren't getting it altered... stop making yourself crazy! I stressed sooo much over my BM dresses and to tell you the truth, it was really the LEAST of my concerns!

I just called Helens Bridal in commack! I spoke with Tulla she seemed so nice over the phone. I made an appt. for myself and my girls to go in in early May. Thanks! Muah!!

i got a bm dress, there i didn't have any problems but i didn't get alterations there either... i wouldn't say the prices are any cheaper but it was also a bill levkoff dress which do run kinda high, ithink it was $160....if you stick with jordan they are the cheapest dresses... try fantasia in rocky pt., i got a dress there & thought the service was a little better, but didn't get alterations there & it's all the way north & out east...also try one of the online sites too, i'm gonna look into that when its time..

Tulla is GREAT!!!! My sister bought her wedding gown there, and when I went shopping for mine she recognized me right away (it had been 2 years). Unfortunately, they couldn't get my wedding gown, but they were super helpful with BM dresses!

good to try on different dresses there- they have a lot - but if you want to save your girls money order online -it would probably be cheaper and easier in the long run

I've heard nothing but bad things.

I would suggest using an online site like Net Bride or RK Bridal. I think there's also House of Brides. All of them were cheaper then Commack.

I used Net Brides and they were GREAT! My SIL is using them too, so far so good.

Definitely check out Phyllis at Gownfind. She just moved into a store and her prices are incredible and she does alterations. I ordered my gown and my bridesmaids dresses from her.
So far it's been fine.
