where is the proper place to write you do not want children at the wedding? should you write it on the invitation itself, the rsvp or on the reception card?

I agree. If I COULD do this, that was the wording I'd use.

Re: please no children or babies
Also, when you mail out the invitations, on the envelope you could put Mr and Mrs _____ . By adding 'and family' it would extend the invite to the kids but since you're stating Mr and Mrs only, that should be another way. Although some people don't always get the hint.

I think writing something about an 'adult' reception would be the best way to do it. I was going to say that the wording on the invite should do the trick, but not everyone is savvy with that sort of thing and wouldn't get the idea.

'08er crashing here...what we did was on the reply card where it says how many people are attending, for certain people who we thought may actually bring their children, we wrote in 2. I personally wouldn't have done it that way but FH was being groomzilla and insisted we do it that way lol. HTH

Re: please no children or babies
thanks ladies for the response. am going with adult reception on the top of the reception card with an inscription: we sincerely hope that the two of you can make it! then on the respond card we plan to write: we look forward to seeing the two of you. I hope people get the hint since it's laid out in 3 spots! yet, some people are nervey I guess.
My friend did that ... she wrote it on the response card at the bottom *Adult Reception

You would only put that on an invitation that the person is not getting married at a church or seperate location. If you are then you should have a seperate reception card & on that you put Adult cocktails & reception. As stated above.

We are getting married at the RH so it just says 'Adult recpetion immediately to follow' ... is that wrong?
