Trying to keep it relatively neutral as we don't yet know what the room will look like (as we don't yet have the house or the furniture).
My very married sister, offered the following advice to me because we don't have a house yet. Register for bedding, towels etc, from a store whose gift cards do NOT expire. After you get them, return them, and keep the gift cards to then repurchase in colors to match house. She registered for beige towels thinking this was neutral, and then bought a house with a white bathroom. She had a major hassle trying to exchange them for the colors that matched.
She also pointed out that I will not have any space to store stuff, and to consider registering only for stuff I know I am going to use right away. (or doing the return thing with large bulky items that take up lots of space).

I had originally registered for this one but we are currently re-doing our registry so I am not sure if we are keeping it. I love it but FH isn't thrilled with it.

fh and i fell inlove w/ our bedding as soon as we saw it!! we got our comforter already!!! yay!!!! i didnt expect to get that for an engagement gift (or at all) b/c its so $$$.
