Who is hosting (your parents, both sets of parents, you and FH?)

Re: Please post traditional invitation wording!!!!! ASAP

Both sets. So I'm thinking

Mr. & Mrs. X and
Mr. & Mrs. Y
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their children
Allison & Giovanni
on the twenty second of August
at three o'clock in the afternoon
X Church
Z, NY

Reception to follow
at seven o'clock in the evening
Woodbury Country Club
Woodbury, NY

***My major problem is do I say 'Reception to follow' or 'Cocktail reception to follow'? Our CH is at 7, Reception from 8-1. Any help is appreciated!

Just 'reception.' People will understand that there are drinks there!

Oh, and 'honour' is always spelled with a 'u' in invitations to a church wedding. Don't know why, but that's how it is.

That's what I thought... but our invitation company said most NYers now do honor.

I like honour and favour. You're 100% positive that is the appropriate wording for a church/pretty formal wedding? Thanks! Big help.
